Coolest Dad Ever Sends Son's Toy Train To Space!

So, so cool!

Ron Fugelseth, dad extraordinaire, somehow had the crazy idea to send his son's most fave toy to space and record it on video.

We're not sure why he did it, but who cares?

It's space! It's AMAZING!

Watch Stanley The Train's journey to the stratosphere (above)!

We're told that Stanley is Ron's 4-year-old's prized possession, so Ron took every precaution to make sure his trip to and from space was safe.

Now, that kid has video proof his dad is cooler than your dad!

Starships In The Sky! Endeavor Space Shuttle Stops Productivity In Los Angeles

endeavor space shuttle los angeles

Everyone in El Lay was freaking the eff out!!

People went to their rooftops this afternoon to get the best sighting of the Endeavor space shuttle as it made its zany loop de loop on top of a 747 around Tinsel Town.

The shuttle spent crazy time in space before making its final landing at LAX on Friday — marking the end of NASA's space shuttle program. Sadface!

But what a great finale!!

As Endeavor taxied on in at the United Airlines hangar, one man popped out of the cockpit's roof to wave an American flag while bystanders' emotions began to pour out.

Reach For The Stars! Listen To Will.i.am's Space Jam Before It Plays On Mars HERE!

The first human voice that any potential extraterrestrial life on Mars will possibly hear may end up being from will.i.am today, when his new single from #willpower, Reach For The Stars, makes its premiere broadcasting from the red planet's surface via the Curiosity rover at 4pm EST!

However, the track has thankfully made its way to Earth FIRST!

And you can listen to the track's special Mars Edition (above)!

Very cool!

But obviously, when it's put into context and playing alongside what we hope to be some pretty sick visuals of our neighbors in space, we imagine it's going to be all the more powerful!

Here's hoping the aliens like it! Ha!

Neil Armstrong Has Died! First Man On The Moon Missed By All!

neil armstrong died

How unbelievably sad!!

Neil Armstrong, the American astronaut who made the epic "one small step" on the moon back in 1969, has died.

His family has yet to confirm when or where he died.

But they will say he passed away due to "complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures."

In an extremely beautiful statement, they say:

"We are heartbroken to share the news that Neil Armstrong has passed away following complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures. Neil was our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink."

He was 82.

Armstrong was a hero and his legacy will live on forever.

Rest in peace, Neil…

Curiosity Killed The Cat… And Then It Conquered Time And Space To Land On Mars

For those of you who requiring an extra bit of encouragement this week, we invite you to watch the Curiosity rover land on Mars.

Its nine month, 352 million mile journey from our planet to the next culminated in an unpredictable seven minute landing sequence that turned out to be more thrilling than just about any fiction we can remember.

Curiosity is a manmade mobile science lab designed to travel to Mars, land without smashing into a trillion pieces, keep a keen robotic eye out for signs of past or present life, and then report back it's findings.

Watch the animated simulation of its landing cut with reaction shots of scientists and engineers watching the live drama unfold (above).

These men and women spent the better part of their careers constructing a marvelous piece of machinery but, on this day, they could do nothing but hope and pray.

We won't trivialize this momentous achievement with John Carter jokes or an ill-suited hyperbole. The video speaks for itself.

On some days, it's just inspiring to be part of the human race.

Science Has Found Three New Planets

three-new-planets.jpg

The list of places we want to see is just growing and growing — and we don't mean here on Earth.

Space travel will be a reality some day, and if they don't stop finding new planets, we here at SpacePerez.com will never have enough time to see them all.

Science has just discovered THREE more exoplanets (planets not in our solar system).

This is a big find, because
