Wow, wow, wow!

Azealia Banks is anything but the flower child her name suggests in this spread with SPIN magazine!

The Harlem rapper and fashion muse was shot by Jason Nocito looking fancifully fierce in Jeremy Scott both on the cover and inside the mag's pages.

The outrageous outfits are reminiscent of Nicki Minaj, but it’s clear that Banks has a style all her own!

Hopefully this cover won’t get banned too!

Spin Magazine recently conducted a survey with 750,000 readers to determine what music was the best in the last 25 years, and we are LOVING the results!

The queen herself, Madonna, was named the Best Solo Artist, beating out Eminem and Beyoncé significantly!

Meanwhile, American Idiot by Green Day was named the Best Album, and Eminem was named Best Hip Hop Artist!

Her words, not ours!

The always clASSy Taylor Momsen is in the latest issue of SPIN magazine posing and talking about her "high-class hooker" style.

At least she's honest.

Here's what else raccoon eyes had to say:

On her style:

"I dress for myself. Clearly, it's provocative, but it makes me feel good. And if the only reason it makes someone uncomfortable is because I'm 17, then that person's a scumbag because it shouldn't matter."

On what she's not:

A "drug addict" or a "crazy fuckin' psycho who's gonna end up in the gutter next week"…"I'm figuring out who I am and what I want to be doing."

On the difference between pop and rock:

"People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna's wearing fuckin' leather jackets, and it's really annoying."

On the future of her music career:

"I know nobody wants to like our music. Online, people said, 'I really wanted to hate [the EP] but I like it.' I hope things continue on that path. But I'll be making more records whether people are listening to them or not."

Wow. She is SO edgy for a 17 year old. Such a role model!

P.S. We don't know about you, but we're having trouble finding any Material Girl pieces in this shoot. So much for being the face of a brand!

After reading the Paramore cover story in the July issue of SPIN magazine, frontwoman Hayley Williams took to her blog to vent about how the band is portrayed in the article and set the record straight.

She writes:

"The SPIN article … that was just printed about us doesn't really seem to say anything about us as a band.

It seems that in most cases writers simply enjoy looking at us and exclaiming - like they've discovered something huge - 'THEY'RE YOUNG!' or of course there's always, 'THEY'RE CHRISTIANS,' or 'THEY DON'T SHOOT UP IN THE BACK OF THE BUS!' What is this, the '80s? Is it really that sensational that we aren't the second coming of Motley Crue?

"I'm sure it's hard to get a handle on any band within the amount of time given to capture 'our story'. maybe reading articles about us just gets a little monotonous, that's all.

I'm not actually friends with McLovin or Miley [Cyrus].

It's my opinion that anyone who is coming onto our band looking for controversy is completely missing the point. the point isn't in the intent of controversy, the point is that there is no way around it. as people, aren't we all bursting at the seams with conflict and controversy? the point of our music is that there are human hearts in it.

We could stop looking for the wrongs and realize that they're inevitable on the way to something more meaningful. I'm not totally preaching here. talking to myself as well, in case you wondered. who knows? maybe I really am just bored with giving music journalists the benefit of the doubt. like they're really gonna let people know what we would want to tell them. yet still, I want to have faith in people. and anyways, what WOULD we want to tell people if we had that much space to write about ourselves? it would probably end up just the same."

Writer Josh Eells wrote the following about the band:

They stay up late to "watch Spaceballs and play Yahtzee."

They sing Hanson songs, and not even 'MMMBop' — we're talking deep cuts. Their bus smells like popcorn and Twizzlers, and their chief entertainment is a book of hypothetical questions they take turns shouting out answers to."

It sounds a little simplistic, but at least Hayley didn't pull an M.I.A.!

Looking good girl!

Paramore's Haley William covers Spin Magazine this month and chats about her band, her boys and her fans!

Here's just a few excerpts from her interview:

"On whether she’s Team Edward or Jacob: “Oh God, I don’t really like either. I wish she’d date the guy at the school lunch table. The other two seem a little high maintenance.”

On their wide variety of fans, after a balding man in his 40s asks for a photo: “I guess the demo has changed! I don’t want to be like, ‘This guy doesn’t like our music, he’s just a creep.’ I try not to be judgmental. On one hand, it’s flattering—like wow, sexy doesn’t have to be a tan blonde girl showing off her goodies. Then again, how far are people taking it? I know there’s pictures online that people have done s— to that’d probably make my cry.”

On avoiding alcohol: “I drank when I was younger, but then I had that 10 Things I Hate About You moment when I realized I was doing this for other people and not for myself. It made me mad, and I haven’t really drank since.”

Good for you, bb! We think a lot of other celebs should adopt that policy! (Right, Lilo?)
