Princess Eugenie's Scoliosis Surgery Nightmare

Princess Eugenie

During a trip to the U.K.'s world-class Royal National Orthopedic Hospital on Thursday to visit teens undergoing scoliosis procedures, Princess Eugenie revealed she once had corrective surgery for the condition herself!

Her curved spine was discovered at just 12-years-old while she was getting a massage. After determining she needed immediate medical help, surgeons placed 8-inch pins along her back in a surgery that was supposed to last one hour.

Unfortunately, the surgery became a little more complicated than expected and lasted 8 hours! Yikes!

Princess Eugenie had to spend 3 days in INTENSIVE CARE out of the 10 days spent in the hospital and now has a scar on her back to remind her of the nightmarish experience.

Now, she's busy giving confidence to the children going through the same experience she did and serves as proof that things will get better. While visiting the hospital, she told reporters:

"I wouldn't look the way I do, my back would be hunched over. I wouldn't be able to talk the way I do about it and help other children who come to me with the same problem. It was a huge part of my life when I was 12, so young. Children can see me and know that the operation works."

Thanks for giving back! We're sure those kids appreciated it.

Mel Begins Community Service!

Let's hope he can put some positivity back into the world after all of the grief he's caused!

Mel Gibson got one lucky break when he pled no contest to simple battery - linked to his abuse of baby mama Oksana Grigorieva last year - and was sentenced to 16 hours of community service, which he is choosing to do at his ex-wife Robyn Gibson's charity, Mending Kids International, but it appears that some of the parents associated with the organization are more than supportive of his presence there!

One parent, James Nicol, has revealed that Mel was essential in aiding their Ethiopian-born son Berhanu get an expensive series of medical procedures to help fix severe spinal issues over the past few years, and is thrilled with any future assistance the actor can provide the charity!

He concludes:

"If Mel was coming over to our house to play ball with my son, I would not be the least bit concerned."

Wow. Here's hoping that we continue to hear such positive stories like this about the actor as he begins his community service.

He's getting off much more easy than he probably should, so we'd love to see him truly take advantage of this and make a sincere, conscious effort to better himself.

What Happened To Our Penis Spines?

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueScience!

Penis Spines

Although humans and chimpanzees share 97% of the same DNA, there are some BIG differences.

Two include our brain and penis, but did you know chimps have penis spines!?

Not like fish or porcupine spines, but small bumps on the organ, which scientists speculate may have been used to aid in sperm competition.

The male chimpanzee's goal is to get his mate pregnant and its bumpy penis may be used to take out the partners sperm if she has recently had sex.

Kind of a gross visual, we know, but after studying human and chimpanzee genome and androgen receptors, scientists theorize our earliest human ancestors probably shared this trait five to seven millions of years ago before we split off into separate species.

Due to millions of years of very kind evolution, humans eventually lost this genome that causes this trait and thanks be to God (who may or may not have anything to do with it) because we'd hate to have prickly peen.

While scientists can only credit natural selection, we're assuming this is how the change went down:

Ancient Early Human Woman: Ew…what are those things? They kind of hurt.

Ancient Early Human Male: My penis bumps. Everyone has them.

Ancient Early Human Woman: That guy doesn't.

Ancient Early Human Woman walks away toward other Ancient Early Human Male named Carl with no penis bumps.
Ancient Early Human Male: Dang it!

Original Glamazon Elizabeth Taylor Is "Too Tired And Weak"

Elizabeth Taylor Is Too Weak For Surgery

One of Hollywood's last true stars, Elizabeth Taylor, has won an Oscar, been married 8 times, and has had over 100 health-related operations.

Sources say now at 78, Liz is "too tired and weak" for further surgery.

Dame Elizabeth has publicly dealt with health problems since falling off a horse on set at the age 12 - a incident that has giving her lasting back problems.

More recently the star has had both hips replaced and had five operations on her back.

Her long list of medical problems include a brain tumour, skin cancer, diabetes, pneumonia, seizures and a stroke. And is now said to suffer from agonising neck pain as a result of scoliosis, or curvature of the spine. Poor thing!

Despite all this Liz seemed pretty optimistic about her health last July. After catching wind of a rumored film based on her relationship with Richard Burton she Taylor hit back with:

"Hold your horses, world. I’ve been hearing all kinds of rumours about someone being cast to play me in a film about Richard and myself. No one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor, but Elizabeth Taylor herself. Not at least until I’m dead, and at the moment I’m having too much fun being alive . . . and I plan on staying that way. Happiness to all."

We hope Liz keeps up that positive attitude, bb!

We send her love and strength and wish her good health!

Hulk Hogan Reveals Graphic Surgery Scars

Hulk Hogan’s followers were given a gross wake-up call the day after Christmas when the wrestler tweeted photos of his spinal surgery scars.

“This was my Christmas present,” tweeted Hulk, along with the first picture.

The pictures show the puncture wounds he sustained while undergoing a nine-hour surgery to fix problems with his spinal cord.

“This is the full view, I'm tired of being cut on,” he tweeted with the second picture.

As everyone knows, pro-wrestling isn’t real, but that doesn’t mean that wrestlers' bodies don’t take a beating!

Annie Lennox Wants To Get Back To The Gym

Annie Lennox Wants To Get Back To The Gym In 2011

Annie Lennox went through spinal surgery that left her with a limp in 2008 — now she’s finally ready to get back in the gym.

The singer thought she may never have the confidence to exercise again, but finally feels ready.

Said Lennox:

"My left leg was almost paralysed because of a condition called drop foot. I thought I was going to lose my foot. I absolutely didn't want to be disabled but it was a very real possibility. I had physio (therapy) but spent a long time limping.

Slowly, the range of movements are coming back. I've never liked exercise, but I'll get there."

We’re so glad she’s back on track! Spinal surgery is scary!
