Spirit Airlines Screws Its Customers AGAIN! Raises Online Booking Fee

spirit airlines screws customers again

Oh, Spirit Airlines! You never cease to disappoint us!

To recap, Spirit became the first American airline to charge a fee for carry-on baggage back in 2010. Ugh.

Then, back in June we heard the LAME news that the airline had plans to start charging $5 for boarding passes printed out by Spirit agents EACH WAY.

They had said that they wouldn't charge anything extra if you check in online or print your own boarding pass…but it looks like they're making up for that with new added fees!

That's right, folks! The airline has just announced that they'll start charging NEARLY $34 in fees to buy tickets online!!!!!! WTF!!!!!

Apparently, they

Boo! Spirit Airlines To Charge $5 Boarding Pass Fee!

spirit to charge five dollar boarding pass fee

This is SUCH bullshiz!

Last year, Spirit Airlines became the first American airline to charge a fee for carry-on baggage, which we thought was seriously lame.

Then, they briefly SORT OF won us over with some of their funny ads, such as their recent "Weiner Sale!" ad.

No amount of weiners can make up for their new policy though: starting November 1st, they'll charge $5 for boarding passes printed out by Spirit agents EACH WAY. WTF?

There won't be any charge if you check in online or print your own boarding pass, but just on principle we find this ridiculous!

We understand that people use Spirit Airlines because they have cheap flights, but what's the point in offering discount flights if you're going to add extra charges for EVERYTHING! We've even heard that they charge for water on Spirit flights. SO uncool!

Here's what Spirit President and CEO Ben Baldanza had to say about the new policy:

Spirit Airlines Is Having A Weiner Sale!!!

spirit weiner sale ad

We've definitely had our issues with Spirit Airlines, but we've got to admit they come up with some pret-ty funny ads!

Check out Spirit's newest promotion (above) where they're offering fares that are "too HARD to resist" during their "Weiner Sale!"

We think Rep. Anthony Weiner should send them a strongly worded letter to complain! He is a victim here, after all! LOLz.

Will U take advantage of Spirit Airlines' Weiner Sale?

Spirit Airlines should be very proud for effing over the public! They are the first American airline to charge a fee for carry-on baggage!

WTF?!

Passengers will be able to bring a bag for free on board, but it must be smaller than the 16"x14"x12" size limit. All luggage stored in the overhead compartment will incur a fee startting at $20 and capping as high as $45.

Members of Spirit Airlines's $9 Fare Club (which includes a yearly fee of $39.95) will pay $20 for carry-on baggage and passengers who reserve a spot in the overhead bin in advance will be charged $30. Unlucky nonmembers who wait until they're at the gate to pay will be charged $45.

The airline insists that the new fee will allow the company to keep fares low by giving "customers the option of paying only for the services they want and use rather than subsidizing the choices of others."

Bullshiz.
