This weekend is time, yet again, for Indiana's annual "Snapperfest." The fest that includes one torturous sport.
This is how PETA described the event:
"The frightened animals are grabbed by their tails and repeatedly slammed to the ground. Their heads are yanked from their shells, and they are then swung around until 'contestants' are able to wrap their fists around the animals' necks."
WTF?? That sounds cruel. Srsyly, The only people that could enjoy that "sport" are the people that enjoy hurting an animals.
One festival participant tried to defend the event by saying:
"We do not kill the turtles. They are caught by hand. You can't pull the head off a turtle."
Wow, really? Is it possible to pull the head off a person? Let's try on that guy.
Everyone should do their part to discourage this kind of abuse. HERE are some suggestions on ways you can help.

What a steal!
Royal newlyweds, Prince William and his Duchess Kate who are making their big North American trip next month, will attend the July 9 Foundation Polo Challenge at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club in California.
It's the one event on their U.S. tour that's open to the public.
That's right! And for the low low price of only $4,000 a person you can brush elbows with the VIPs seated in the royal couple's section!

Horse racing trick secret: the weirder the name the faster the horse!
It was an astonishing win in a race that was expected to be a rematch between rival horses Shackleford and Animal Kingdom, both of which had been competing to win a second leg of the Triple Crown.
Animal Kingdom nearly tossed his jockey at the start and fell behind early, while Shackleford came out of the gate strong and held the lead for much of the race.
But he lost it at the end.
The two favs fell by the wayside as Ruler On Ice was followed by Stay Thirsty and Brilliant Speed in second and third place.
Will have to wait for the third leg of the triple to break the now three-way rivalry.
Our money is on Bubble Poop Ninja Breath !!
Ok, that's not a real horse… but it should be, cause he would totally win.

Bunny Jumping (aka Kaninhop) involves bunnies bouncing their way around courses consisting of several small jumps of varying height and length.
Over the past few decades to sport has spread far from its Scandinavian homeland and clubs have now sprung up in several other European countries, Canada, Japan and now here in the US (why?)!
Rules vary from country to country, but generally the more jumps a rabbit clears the higher its score. There is also sometimes a time element to competitions.
As well as the dressage-style courses, there are also long-jump and high-jump challenges.
The world height record is 99.5cm while the best distance is full a three meters.
Is that impressive? Idk what an average rabbit jump is!
