Lamar Odom Gets A Standing Ovation From The Lakers!

Awww! How nice is this??

They truly miss him!

Lamar hit the court against the Lakers, for the first time since having left them and going to Dallas, and received a super nice standing ovation from his former team's fans!

Now that's sportsmanship!

It probably happened because he didn't have much of a choice in it, and he didn't jerk his team and fans around with a half hour special on his announcement. We're looking at you, LeBron, king of tact.

Lucky Yankees Fan Catches Derek Jeter's 3,000th Hit…And Gives It Back!

Now that is what we like to call sportsmanship!

A lucky 23-year-old fan named Christian Lopez caught Derek Jeter's record setting 3,000th hit at Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

He could have kept it for bragging rights or sold it off to the highest bidding sports buff for a projected $250,000, but instead Lopez decided it belongs in the hands of the Bronx Bomber himself and gave it back to Jeter!

After returning the in exchange for meeting his baseball idol, Lopez told reporters:

"His accomplishment is a milestone. Like someone said, only 27 other people have done this. It's not an everyday thing and he deserves every second of it."

Although the fan did not ask for anything in return other than meeting Jeter, his act of kindness did not go unnoticed by the team he roots for game after game. The Yankees rewarded Lopez with four seats in a team suite for the rest of the season, INCLUDING playoffs!

Probably still not worth $250,000, but still not a bad deal and it's always awesome to see people care more about other people than they do about money.

Check out the video above to meet the lucky fan and get all the details!

Giants & Dodgers Unite To Call For End To Violence

Giants & Dodgers Unite To Call For End To Violence

When rival teams walk onto the field together, it normally results in heated competition.

But not last night.

Both teams joined each other on the pitchers mound to stand together as a sign of respect and to send a message to fans that the rivalry between fans should never turn violent.

Giants reliever Jeremy Affeldt and Dodgers second baseman Jamey Carroll spoke for the teams.

Said Carroll:

"There's no room in this game for hatred and violence. It is about respect. This is America's national pastime and let's keep it that way."

Affeldt added:

"I don't have to tell you about the Dodgers-Giants, it's one of the most storied rivalries in the history of the game but in honoring that rivalry and honoring the Stow family, you have to remember when these two teams get on the field and play, we're competitive. But when the last out is made, that rivalry ends on the field, so please respect that."

The reason for this show of sportsmanship and humanity is a reaction to the abuse of Bryan Stow, a Giants fan, who was severely beaten by two men wearing Dodgers gear not long ago. He is currently in critical condition.

This is such an important message. Rivalries, at the end of the day, should be FUN and add FUN to the games. If they do anything more than incite friendly competition they are destructive and pathetic.
