Hmm…doesn't this sound familiar?
Now where have we heard this one before?!
Stacy Francis has had QUITE a bit of success on Broadway and in the entertainment industry over the past 12 years, despite the story she tells on The X Factor as an unemployed single mom, but apparently, that's not the first time she's told it!
Check out her audition for the BET TV gospel competition Sunday's Best from 2010 (above)!
Is this why you're so adamant about being a pop singer, gurl?
"Really silly" or not, the truth always comes out.
Although Stacy Francis has continued to assert that she's been an unemployed, single mother for the past 12 years, more and more proof continues to surface that suggests quite the opposite!
The X Factor contestant has claimed via Twitter that she "never toured with Madonna, Chaka Khan, or Prince" and that she "never had a solo record deal, nor has one ever been released," but according to the bio section on her now-deleted website:
Working on a stage production of Dreamgirls.
The X Factor contestant, Stacy Francis, has claimed that she hasn't worked in the past 12 years, however, yet another piece of proof has shown us that once again, Stacy isn't being the most honest.
She starred in the 2008 production of Dreamgirls at the East County Performing Arts Center in El Cajon, California.
Hmm, what else are U hiding, Stacy??
In case you're still not convinced that X Factor's Stacy Francis has CLEARLY been working as a singer and performer for the past 12 years or so, we have even MORE proof to show you.
Okay, sure, the above picture looks a little dated, but Mz. I Haven't Worked In 12 Years was NOMINATED for a 2007 Ovation Award, which awards Southern California performers for their excellence in theater.
AND, she even recorded an album in 2008, including doing a track with Brandy!

Girlfriend has had more opportunities in the last 20 years than most people have ever had EVER - including people competing against her on The X Factor!
When American audiences were first introduced to Stacy Francis weeks ago on the premiere of The X Factor, everyone (including us) was taken with her incredible voice and her gut-wrenching story of being silenced by domestic violence and so on. While we have no idea if her home life was as bad as she made it seem, we're learning more and more each day that Stacy was never kept from sharing her musical gifts with the world. In fact, for the last 20 years, she has had a very SUCCESSFUL career, starring in movies and TV shows, performing at celebrity benefits and even starring on Broadway. Some people are lucky if they've done one of those things; she did them ALL!
And now, we've uncovered MORE about the singer, including new details about her friendship with Adam Lambert. Oh yeah! There are those who would have you believe that Adam is just another celebrity fan of Stacy's simply because he watches the show. In actuality, the pair go way back, back several years ago, where they performed alongside together at the Upright L.A. Cabaret. (above) Funny how no one seemed to mention that on Twitter.
But wait, there's more! Yesterday, we told you how Stacy had performed with the likes of Madonna, Prince and Chaka Kan, but there is one more diva name you can add to that list: Whitney Houston! Stacy actually performed with the diva herself, who referred to her as "a very successful singer from New York City who’s currently on Broadway," and her "friend."
And about that stint on Broadway. Or should we say, STINTS! First, she join the cast of Smokey Joe’s Cafe. That was followed by a role in Street Corner Symphony. But then, she actually originated the role of Rusty in Footloose. You can even hear her sing on the album HERE!
AND YES! THERE IS MORE!
When she was 16, Stacy was in a R&B group called Girlfriends, which led her to a part in performed in Girlfriend, a made for television movie produced by Oprah Winfrey! Girl
Twitter wars aside, we'd like to clarify one point: We do think Stacy Francis is extremely talented. At her core, she has a remarkable and powerful voice and we're glad that she is finally getting her shot to shine on The X Factor.
Or is she?
We've actually just come to learn that Stacy has had QUITE a career prior to singing before Simon Cowell and Co., as she worked STEADILY as a performer on Broadway, movies/tv and with HUGE musical acts for several YEARS!
In the 90s, Stacy found herself associating with some big name talents. Sources reveal that she toured with the likes of Madonna, Prince and Chaka Khan, while also being a regular on New York Broadway stages, like Smokey Joe's Cafe and Footloose. Beyond that, she also had a lucrative career on the screen, according to IMDB, as she had a role in the 1990's flick The Bonfire of the Vanities and a couple episodes of Third Watch.
Huh. Such incredible opportunities for someone who led us to believe she had struggled for years to even muster the courage to sing in front of other people. Doesn't seem that way to us. Why, just look at her performing for Tom Cruise and all the guests of his birthday party in 2004!
Oh yeah! Watch the video (above)! That's Stacy herself, crooning out a version of You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' by the Righteous Brothers. And that's Tom Cruise, in the front row.
Wow! So many celebrities! You would think at least one of them would introduce her to the right people. You would think all the years of touring and being on Broadway would've helped her catch the eye of some producer. And even if not, you would think these would be the kinds things that would be brought up in a background check for a major television show trying to pass her off as a amateur.
A little suspicious if you ask us! What other secrets do you have, Stacy?
P.S. - You should also google her name with VH1’s Beverly Hills Fabulous. Think that might surprise you as well.
