Look at that face! Who wouldn't want to send a million letters using that stamp??
The U.S. Post Office has released a new stamp honoring Owney the dog, who was America's roaming dog back in the 1880s.
The story of Owney originates in upstate New York when a terrier mix was seen riding in the postal wagon of a mail delivery train. He rode along the U.S. railroad tracks giving luck to workers, who had dangerous jobs on train tracks that caused more than 2,000 injuries and 80 deaths.
Nancy Pope, historian and curator at the National Postal Museum spoke about the stamp:
"It’s been in the works for a long, long, long time. People would ask, 'Shouldn’t there be a stamp with Owney on it,' so it’s been one of those things that people bring up on a regular basis."
And looks like the Post Office gave in to their demands. And it's about time! This stamp is just too cute to not use!

Wow!
Not only is this super cool, but we think that he may actually be the first out gay man to appear on postage!
Check out the new Royal Mail British stamp featuring Harry Potter's number one gay, Albus Dumbledore, who appears in a special set of the world's most famous wizards, witches and enchanters (above)!
WERK it, diva! LOLz!
And see some of the other characters, including Aslan, Merlin, and Voldemort (below)!
Thoughts??
