John Galliano is set to go on trial for his anti-semitic rants back in March and his new lawyer is ready to duke it out with the prosecutors.
Aurelien Hamelle, who took over for Stephane Zerbib after being fired last month, says his client WILL testify his addiction to booze and pills are responsible for the hateful words.
Hamelle claims Galliano started hitting the bottle and popping Valium like "candy" to cope with the pressures of making money for Dior and managing his own line.
His lawyer continues:
"It's clear that John Galliano was ill when this happened. He had a triple addiction to alcohol, benzodiazepine (Valium) and sleeping pills. The combined effect of these drugs left him in a state of complete and utter abandon…When he was in that state he had no way of knowing or remembering what he said. Every witness at the cafe has said he was in an abnormal condition."
Inneresting defense, but is it strong enough?
Do U think Galliano's "addiction" defense will keep him out of jail???

You know that lawyer John Galliano fired a few weeks ago? Well, now he's suing him!
In a lawsuit filed last month, the scandal-plagued designer accuses Stephane Zerbib of "embezzling nearly three million euros ($4.4 million) from his own account and one of his companies."
Did he not think he'd get caught!?
The complaint goes on to say that Zerbib, who was hired to manage the rights of Galliano's image, made multiple cash withdrawals from the bank account using the company card and on one occasion up to seven times a day.
But wait it gets better!

John Galliano has fired his lawyer of 7 years just weeks before his pre-trial hearing are scheduled to take place.
There was a rumor going around Stephane Zerbib had quit, but before he could speak to the press a rep for the designer beat him to it.
The statement read:
"Mr Zerbib was dismissed as Galliano's lawyer some weeks ago following the discovery of apparent irregularities in respect of his firms administration of Galliano's financial affairs over a number of years."
We hope they were able to find someone willing to represent him or he's going to be S.O.L.
