Joran van der Sloot is a cold-blooded killer.

He remains the primary suspect in Natalee Holloway's 2005 disappearance.

And he pled guilty to murdering Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramírez in 2010, for which he's currently serving a 28 year sentence in a high-security Peruvian prison.

But, hey, why should he let that stop him from having a good time??

While it's looking like the rumors of his engagement were part of some practical joke he was playing, sources close to the South American prison are reporting that Joran is really enjoying his time in lock-up.

His attorney Aldo Cotrina concurs. He said:

Joran van der Sloot, the man who has been found guilty in Peru for the murder of Stephany Flores and main suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, may finally be getting the punishment he deserves from the U.S. justice system.

Sources are reporting that the process to extradite the criminal from Peruvian prison has begun and authorities hope to bring him to trial for charges of extortion and wire fraud from the Holloway case.

After asking for more time to consider his plea (as if that didn't scream manipulative enough), Joran Van der Sloot has finally pleaded guilty in the case of Stephany Flores' murder.

As much of a slimeball as he is, he's not exactly stupid. He's pulling the "I'm so sorry, I feel so bad, bla bla bla" card now in hopes of mercy.

This SCREAMS guilty even more than before.

Joran van der Sloot asked for more time regarding his plea for the Stephany Flores case.

His attourney annouced earlier that van der Sloot planned on pleading guilty to all charges but backed out when the judge asked for his plea.

Van der Sloot stated he wanted to give a "sincere confession" which would reduce his sentence. He is being charged with "qualified murder" and simple robbery.

One step closer to justice!

To recap, Joran van der Sloot is in jail for a first-degree murder charge in the death of Stephany Ramirez Flores, and he is the prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case.

Back in April, he was accused of stabbing three fellow inmates in his Peruvian jail, and he "burst out laughing" when he heard the accusations.

Then back in June, Joran appeared in Peruvian court for a hearing regarding the Stephany Flores murder case.

Now, he's been FORMALLY charged with first-degree murder in the Flores case, and Peruvian prosecutors are seeking a 30-year jail sentence and damages of more than $70,000. The trial is expected to begin this October.

As we've said many times before, we absolutely still believe that Joran is a monster, and we truly hope that he is appropriately punished for his horrific crimes.

After admitting to the murder of Stephany Flores, extorting money from Natalee Holloway's parents and then telling stories about her disappearance, Joran van der Sloot feels guilty.

"For everything that's happened since 2005, all the things said in the media and everything, I feel guilty for," said the murderer on Dutch TV, segments of which aired on Tuesday's Today show. "It's a whole web of problems, but I created all of them myself. So yeah, I have to deal with it now, deal with the consequences."

Ugh, it sure was NOT an apology! As if that would matter…

Joran is currently being held in Lima, Peru, where he is awaiting trial on a murder charge.
