The newest issue of Numero is stirring up a whole lot of controversy with an editorial featuring Constance Jablonski.
Constance, who is white, got made up in blackface a la Lara Stone in last year's October issue of Vogue Paris and Claudia Schiffer's Stern Fotografie cover.
Some people have argued that the model was just over-bronzed, but when you mix that with the afros and baby it's hard to say this wasn't intentional.
If they wanted a black model, they should have hired Jourdan Dunn or Chanel Iman. Instead they do something like this that clearly shows how far they'll go to NOT hire a woman of color.
What do U think of Numero's editorial???
- It's not that bad (59%)
- It's racially incensitive (41%)

In a matter of days Claudia Schiffer has sparked controversy over a photo snapped by Karl Lagerfeld that shows her sporting an afro and dark makeup on one of the 6 covers for Stern Fotografie.
But now, the supermodel's rep has come out to defend the photo. Schiffer's rep issued a statement saying:
"The pictures have been taken out of context. The images were designed to reflect different men's fantasies. The pictures were not intended to offend, they were done very creatively and they are some of Karl Lagerfeld's favorite images of Claudia. People should not jump to conclusions."
And there you have it.
Shevelle Rhule, editor of Pride magazine, makes a very valid point. Upon seeing the picture the fashion editor said:
"I don't believe they deliberately set out to offend, they obviously see it as being arty and feel that they are pushing boundaries. But clearly no thought has been given to the history behind what they have done and the comparisons it draws with minstrel shows."
What do U think???

Here we go again.
For the 60th issue of Stern Fotografie, Karl Lagerfeld compiled photos of his favorite supermodel Claudia Schiffer.
The style mag, featuring snap shots of Claudia taken over the past 20 years by Unkle K, is being published in 6 different covers. Unfortunately, one of those covers shows Claudia sporting dark makeup and an afro.
We just don't get it. Why do European magazines like Stern Fotografie, L'Officiel Hommes and Vogue Paris insist on doing this time and time again?
Enough is enough!
