Bill Paxton had a lot of iconic roles for film fans to fave — undersea explorer Brock from Titanic, hysterical space marine Hudson from Aliens, a-hole big brother Chet from Weird Science.
But for storm chasers, he'll always be Bill Harding.
In the hit film Twister, Paxton gave the tornado hunting scientists their first depiction on the big screen — and it was a damn heroic one at that!

Star of Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers veteran meteorologist Matt Hughes was memorialized in his final episode of the show.
He died on May 26th at only 30 years old. The episode, entitled Dedication, detailed his last storm chase.
A friend wrote the following about Hughes' death:
"Matt Hughes was taken to the hospital after trying to take his life. Matt was in the hospital for several days in intensive care, there was a 24 hour vigil outside the waiting room, family, other chasers, business associates, etc. I knew we were going to lose him. What a lot of us didn't know was that he suffered from depression."
His Discovery Channel bio read:
"Matt has had a life-long fascination with extreme weather. Last year, Matt forecasted for the TIV team in the follow vehicle, Doghouse. This season, Matt is out of the Doghouse and in the navigation seat of the TIV, hoping to guide Sean to a perfect tornado intercept."
