And The Most Profitable Movie Of 2011 So Far Is…

insidious is most profitable movie of 2011 so far

Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch! JK!

Actually, the REAL most profitable movie of 2011 is kind of unexpected as well - James Wan's Insidious.

The independent horror flick was made for less than $1.5 million, and its global box office is already passing $50 million! Wowsa!

Insidious is on track for a final worldwide box office of between $80 and $90 million.

Still got eight months to go…should be inneresting to see if Insidious ends up being the most profitable movie of the year overall.

Then again, we know A LOT of people are excited for Fast Five…could be some competition there…

Did U see Insidious? Do U think it will come out on top as the most profitable movie of 2011?

Awww…Poor Bryan Singer! Superman Returns Director On Why His Version Failed

bryan singer talks superman returns failure

You win some, you lose some! Just look at Zack Snyder's last film…

Sucker Punch jabs aside, Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman film has got a lot of buzz surrounding it, and it's spurred Superman Returns director Bryan Singer to open up about why his film failed.

Here's what Singer had to say about Superman Returns' failure:

"I know it’s hard to blame the time, but there’s a bit of an expectation for a summer movie. I think that Superman Returns was a bit nostalgic and romantic, and I don’t think that was what people were expecting, especially in the summer."

"What I had noticed is that there weren’t a lot of women lining up to see a comic book movie, but they were going to line up to see The Devil Wears Prada, which may have been something I wanted to address."

"If I was going to do another one, it would be a reboot. I would go back and redo the original… It would be a much less romantic, more b—-to-the-wall action movie. It would be a very different pace than Superman Returns, which I can say at this point because I have distance from it now."

We certainly appreciate your candidness with regards to the movie, Bryan, but don't beat yourself up over it!

Until the day comes where they give the Eternal Sunshine memory-erasing procedure to everyone who saw Catwoman, there are still superhero movies that people will say were worse than Superman Returns. LOLz.

What do U think about Bryan Singer's comments on his Superman film?

The Easter Bunny Hops To First Place At The Weekend Box Office

Happy early Easter!

Kids were jumping for joy at the movies this weekend to see bunnies poop jelly beans.

Yup, Universal's Hop debuted at the number one spot at the box office this weekend. The animated/live-action film, starring Russell Brand and James Marsden, made $38.1 million, which was better than expected.

Universal must be hopping for joy because it's the biggest opening of any other film this year so far.

Meanwhile, Jake Gyllenhaal's Source Code didn't come in first place, but it still did fairly good, opening with $15.1 million.

The inexpensive horror film, Insidious, came in third with $13.5 million.

Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch took a huge blow as it dropped 68% from the previous weekend, grossing only $6.1 million for the weekdn.

So far, that's been the biggest second-weekend drop of any movie this year.

Rounding out the top five was Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, which fell 57% and and grossed $10.2 million.

Zack Snyder On Amy Adams As Lois Lane, He's Excited!

Filed under: Film FlickersAmy AdamsHenry Cavill

zack snyder excited for amy adams as lois lane

We're excited too, Zack! We think you made a great choice!

Earlier this week, we were pumped to hear that Amy Adams was cast as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman reboot.

Now, Zack has opened up further about choosing Amy for the major role, and he's very happy with his decision:

"I'm really excited about Amy of course. I'm really excited about the message that sends."

"It took a little while to cast her and we had to fly Henry over to see how they looked together but it's great."

We're really glad to hear it! We're feeling good about this one…despite the fact that Zack's last film was Sucker Punch. Ha!

Are U also excited for Amy Adams as Lois Lane?

Look who's looking like the bee-knees?! Ha!

Over the weekend, Vanessa Hudgens was in Las Vegas promoting her new movie Sucker Punch. On Saturday, she attended an event at Pure and dressed to the nines in a full flapper outfit!

Pretty snazzy! We love the beaded-headress thingy!

Check out more hot shots of V-Hudge in Sin City in the gallery (below)!

Vanessa Parties At Pure In Python

Vanessa Hudgens celebrated the release of her new film Sucker Punch this weekend by getting her party on in Vegas.

The 22 year old arrived at Pure on Saturday night wearing a Blu Moon python dress with matching jacket and YSL shoes.

There's definitely way too much python going on and to make matters worse, the dress is completely unflattering.

We're also not digging her choice of accessories.
