Crazy Couple Reunited With Lost Stuffed Monkey

bongo the monkey

Big news from NYC! Bongo missing child beanie baby has been found!

"I never gave up hope — I prayed, mediated, and now he’s with us again"

said Bonni Marcus, 47, who was heartbroken after losing Bongo, a stuffed monkey she had raised like a child for the past ten years.

Bong was lost on Marcus's walk home from eating a meal with her boyfriend Jack Zinzi in Brooklyn on August 1st.

Zinzi and Marcus must have a lot of time on their hands cause the couple made flyers and passed them out around the neighborhood.

Lucky for them they asked a group of men including near by resident Luis Barreto about Bong and the reward. Barreto said found the beanie baby / lost loved one on a parking meter and took it back to his place.

As they approached his apartment Marcus said she "felt Bongo’s presence." We're guessing she also must have felt a server head injury in her childhood.

Bongo will also be reunited with his identical Beanie Baby brothers — named Doe, Ray and Me — who Marcus said, “were also suffering.”

Veteran Prescribes Pets To Cure PTSD

Awww!!

Laughter A pet is the great medicine!

When Dave Sharp began suffering from post traumatic stress disorder after encountering two near-death experiences in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, he found peace from his six month old puppy.

Dave realized:

"There are 18 veterans that commit suicide every day in America. And there's an animal that is put to sleep every 8 seconds."

So Dave started this ultra fabulous program called "Pets To Vets" - which pairs war vets with a companion.

Just watch to see how grateful the vets, and the pets, are for this program!

German Parliament Gives The OK To Genetically Test Embryos

German Embryos

In a controversial move, the German Parliament has come to a decision on a debate that's been ongoing for a while: they have given the OK to genetically test embryos that are going to be used for in vitro fertilization!

This means that doctors can test the embryo for genetic disorders before they implant it into the womb, but on a case by case basis:

Under the law approved Thursday, an ethics commission will have to decide on a case-by-case basis whether couples can use the procedure.

A large minority of lawmakers had favored a total ban on the practice, with some saying even limited permission for genetic selection set a bad precedent.

"This is about variety: do we want to allow it in our society?" asked Katrin Goering-Eckardt of the opposition Greens, one of those advocating a ban.

That's an interesting thought about variety, but, not everyone is going to be allowed to do it. Only those that have an extreme history of defects:

"I am firmly convinced that we should not choose to close our eyes to how we can use modern medicine appropriately to support and help these long-suffering families."

We agree with that!

We'd be a little less for it if, say, everyone could do it on a whim or if it were required for those trying to get preggers. But it isn't, so we aren't.

Let's hope this helps some people out!

Cell Phones Signals May Be Killing Bees

Are Cell Phones May Be Killing Bees

Yay!!! We mean… oh, darn it!

Signals from mobile phones could be partly to blame for the mysterious deaths of honeybees, new research shows.

In the first experiment of its kind, a bee expert placed a mobile phone underneath a hive and then carefully monitored the reaction of the workers.

The bees were able to tell when the handsets were making and receiving calls, and responded by making the high pitched squeaks that usually signal the start of swarming.

Some experts say the latest generation of pesticides may disrupt the nervous systems of bees, causing them to get lost and confused.

And most bee experts say the creatures are suffering from the loss of wild flowers, meadows, rough pasture and untidy gardens.

However, a handful of experts say mobile phones could also be partly to blame.

Hotels Offering Allergy Free Rooms

Hotel room allergies

Good news for frequent travelers who are part of the 40 million Americans who suffer from allergies!

Hotels are now offering "hypoallergenic" rooms that are thoroughly cleaned to reduce dust mites, bacteria and other irritants — for a price that is.

We knew there was a catch! Ha!

For a $25 premium, allergy sufferers can book a room that has been specially cleaned with eco-friendly disinfectants, air purified, and includes beds with linens that protect from dust mite allergens.

According a 2010 survey by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, 38% of hotels have an allergy-friendly option and hotels providing air purifiers more than doubled to 25% of respondents, up from 12% in 2008.

However, not everyone is jumping up and down about the increased premiums for increased protection.

Paul Williams, an allergy specialist, believes hotels should be offering "reasonable options" for allergy sufferers, instead of an expensive premium, saying:

"There really isn't any scientific evidence to support some of those (hypoallergenic claims). People are paying money they don't need to pay, but it's their choice."

Exactly! At least it is a choice, unlike paying for checked baggage on airlines.

If your allergies are so bad that you'll need to fork up a little extra dough for the added insurance you won't be breaking out in hives or sneezing up a storm, these premiums can only benefit you.

However, if an Allegra is all you need, than maybe it's a better idea to save your $25 for a nice dinner instead.

Technology Reunites Dog With Owner

Tech Dog

Amazing!

A pet owner's prayers are finally answered after his lost dog is found after three years.

The dog somehow disappeared from Father Annibal Morales' home in 2008. Last week, someone found Logo and dropped him off at Miami-Dade Animal services.

"As a priest, we don't have family of our own, losing him was like losing a part of my family,"

said Father Annibal Morales.

Morales said the last time he saw Logo, which was more than three years ago, he was just a puppy. The only reason they are reunited now is because of the microchip he put on the dog.

The $10 implant meant the difference between Logo being lost and now found.

"As long as the dog shows up at a regular vet, any private vet or any regular vet or shelter in the whole world, it doesn't matter where, they can find the owner. It's worthwhile to have that on your dog. It's been three years, but it's worthwhile to find him."

Although he is suffering from a skin condition and appeared to be scared and skinny, Logo will be nursed back into shape at his owner's new home next to Miami's Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Charlie Sheen Rushed To The Hospital!!!!

Oh no! We hope he's alright!

Sources are reporting that Charlie Sheen was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. just before 7 AM this morning.

Around 6:30 AM, someone called 911 and said Charlie was suffering from severe abdominal pains. When the ambulance arrived, they transported Charlie out of the house on a stretcher, while he tried to cover his face with a towel. Two women were spotted exiting the house at the same time Charlie was loaded into the ambulance. There have also been reports from Charlie's neighbors that the Two and a Half Men actor threw a pretty wild party last night that lasted until the wee hours of the morning.

We haven't heard much more about his condition so far, but we know his father, Martin Sheen and his publicist, Stan Rosenfield are in the emergency room with him.

Poor guy. We hope he pulls through whatever he is going through .
