They certainly are committed, aren't they?

Despite injuries to four different cast members, the cast of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is standing by the musical and firing back at the show's critics.

Tony Award-winning Alice Ripley recently said that the production is "embarrassing to working actors everywhere…Does someone have to die?"

However, one of the stars of the show, Reeve Carney says that the production "appreciates everyone's concern for our safety" and adds:

"It's an athletic event so you know that there's a certain amount of risk involved. The people on are crew are amazing; they care for our safety every day … we do trust them."

Ha. That doesn't sound very convincing.

Patrick Page, another star, says though that he wishes "they could be in the building with us and see the care [director Julie Taymor] takes and the care that our producer Michael Cole takes. I think they'd feel a lot better." He also says that the Actors' Equity Association is on set "virtually all the time."

Even Christopher Tierney, the stunt man who suffered from four broken ribs and three cracked vertebrae after falling 30 feet into the pit, says that he hopes to return to the show once he recovers. "The moment I feel I am good, I am back in that show," he said. "I can't wait."

Wow. Well, obviously the cast believes in the show and their production crew and is willing to go the extra mile.

We're not sure if we'd be so brave.
