Before you sharpen your pitchforks in anticipation for what this kid tweeted, we can tell you right now that he absolutely should not have been suspended for it. It's VERY tame, and the reaction from the administration is pretty appalling!

The kid in question happens to be the senior class president at a Height High School, and has been suspended and banned from almost all graduation activities. Why? A tweet that the school officials claim insulted athletes at the school.

When 33 members of the senior class of Scripps Ranch High School have to explain to their families why they wouldn't be picking up their diplomas at graduation, they had to refer to Urban Dictionary!

The students were suspended, prevented from walking at graduation, and banned from prom, all for twerking!

Well, that and making a VIDEO of it!

The students are accused of breaking the school's sexual harassment policy, which according to the SRHS handbook, includes any "verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature made by someone from or in the educational setting."

The punishment is causing quite a bit of controversy, in and out of the high school, and we can see why!

We hate to see kids punished for dancing, but then again this is hardly the plot of Footloose!

Rutgers needs to seriously tighten up its athletics program!

Only a few weeks after firing the abusive men's basketball coach Mike Rice , the university has just suspended its head men's lacrosse coach Brian Brecht!

Performing Arts teacher Sue Johnson was suspended for three days for playing a music video for her class.

Was it a video that glorified violence? Showed nudity? Was it full of graphic language?

We're not sure this was entirely appropriate.

A six-year-old boy has been suspended by the school he attends for making a "gun gesture" at another student in his gym class.

The parents have hired a lawyer to get the incident off the boy's permanent record. Yes there are apparently such things as permanent records for six-years-old.

A spokesman with the Metropolitan Police has revealed:

"Officers have been in contact with Australian authorities."

However, Nick Kaldas, the deputy commissioner for New South Wales Police, confirmed:

"It hasn't been indicated to us that an offense has occurred and they have not actually asked for anything yet. They've simply touched base, let us know of their interest and they will get back to us if they actually want something done. Nothing has been requested of us yet."

Susan Johnson is a performing arts teacher who works in Michigan and when one of her students approached her to play a song that was pro-gay, she thought it would be a good experience for all of her students.

Here's what she said:

"I asked him a few questions about the song…if it was violent, if there was any profanity, and he said no, I really love my kids and I never want to hurt them, but I also know that there's a lot of bullying and there's a lot of gay bashing and racial issues going on in our country and I want the kids to feel comfortable in my class no matter who they are. This is one of the things in my school that we're trying to practice and we're trying to instill in our students is tolerance to diversity."

But her administration disagreed.
