My Crazy Obsession: This Guy Escapes The World By Being A Merman!

Have you ever just wanted to get away from it all?? Sure!

Most people just go on a vacation once or twice a year, or spend a weekend camping or something! Not many people would drive an hour and a half (both ways) three times a week just to swim around a natural spring DRESSED AS A MERMAN!

On TLC's My Crazy Obsession (what else?), we meet Eric Ducharme, someone who is obsessed with mermaids, mermen, and any other kind of human/fish hybrid!

The thing is, though, he's not hurting anyone. He isn't even hurting himself, like those with crazy dangerous addictions that TLC likes to show as well. It's a harmless activity, and he enjoys it! It's not like he's making his fins out of actual fish, and he isn't forcing anyone to join him!

Though, one argument you COULD have is the gas he's using — to some it might look like a waste. To him, he's spending it wisely!

Luckily, if U don't know how to feel about it quite yet, you can just ch-ch-check out the video we have (above) from the episode and decide for yourself!

Do YOU, Eric!

Just when we thought we had seen everything…

… We stumble upon this!

An alligator is being taught to swim with a prosthetic tail after its original tail was bitten off by another alligator!

The alligator's name is Mr. Stubbs fittingly enough. He was named as such because of his lack of a tail!

The alligator was first found on a truck that was illegally transporting him. He was brought to the Phoenix Society who have helped the alligator by hooking up his body to a prosthetic tail!

So far everything is going swimmingly!!

Ch-ch-check it out for yourself by watching it (above) !!!

How To Read Your Dog's Tail

how to read your dog's tail

Your doggie's tale indicates more about your dog's emotions than you might think.

High, stiff, and wagging = “I’m in charge”

A tail that’s upright like a mast doesn’t necessarily mean that a dog is feeling aggressive, but she’s certainly being assertive. Many people get bitten because they misinterpret stiffly wagging tails. A tail held high and wagging stiffly is the sign of a dominant dog, and it could mean that the dog is ready to attack.

Low, fast wags and short sweeps = “I’m no threat”

When a meek dog is approached by a more assertive dog—one with her tail up and stiffly wagging—she has only one reasonable response: to show the bossy dog that she isn’t a threat. Dogs who are fearful or submissive often will respond to another dog’s approach by holding their tails low and wagging them just slightly. This means, “Hey, I’m friendly and no threat at all.”

Low, slow wags and large sweeps = “It’s good to see you”

Sometimes a wag is really just a wag. You’ll know your dog is wagging because she’s happy to see you and wants to play when her tail is low or even with her body and is wagging a little slowly, but in wide sweeps back and forth. Usually, her whole butt will be wiggling as well.

Keep in mind: Some hunting dogs, like spaniels, have been bred to wag their tails constantly while pursuing quarry. To signal that they’ve found their game, they stop wagging and hold their tails stiffly up in the air. On the other hand, herding dogs are bred to have less tail movement so that their wagging tails don’t distract or excite the animals that they’re trying to herd. If you didn’t know that about these animals, you might think one was overly excited while the other was overly staid, when it’s really just the way they were bred.
