What a good daddy!

Director and comedian Kevin Smith had a comedy show lined up in Canada this Saturday, but after he learned that his daughter Harley made it to the finals in her Battle of the Bands competition… he CANCELLED his performance, so he can be at his child's talent show!!

To announce that he will not be telling d**k jokes this weekend, he took to his Facebook to share:

Yeah, we thought Regis Philbin was retiring from show business too. Guess not!

But now, instead of chatting with Kelly Ripa, he's going to produce a family talent show. And no, it won't be during daytime television.

NBC's got talent when it comes to producing winning reality-performance competition shows!

Last night, America's Got Talent debuted to record numbers with 15 million viewers during the first hour and 16.6 million the second.

The nationwide talent show then boosted viewership for The Voice, which had taken a ratings dip, but garnered 14.4 million viewers on Tuesday night.

The talented combo made NBC the most watched network on Tuesday night, beating out ABC's NBA Final between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.

Not too shabby! On the other hand, what is America to do without any more Idol this season?

We're curious to see if NBC will remain an audience favorite for vocal competitions when the X Factor premieres on FOX this fall.

NBC's America's Got Talent is launching a nationwide tour on October 1 with former host of the show Jerry Springer!

Makes sense considering the other talent shows that have tours, but will the public go see it?

With the state she seems to be in these days, maybe this kid can finish up the rest of her tour for her!

Taiwanese singer Lin Yu-chun, AKA the kid who sounds just like Whitney Houston in that Youtube video (above) - has signed a record deal with Sony Music!

He says:

"I still can't believe this is real. You don't have to be a good-looking man or woman to succeed. Just be yourself and try your best."

Lin became an overnight sensation when he appeared on the talent show Avenue To Stardom and performed the diva's hit I Will Always Love You, and will now release an album of both Chinese and English songs, set to hit shelves in July!

We have to admit, it will certainly be interesting to see if they actually give this kid a legit album or if he'll just be marketed as a gimmick! He definitely has a set of pipes on him!
