Steve Carell To Star In Dogs Of Babel

Steve Carell always seems to have the right mix of comedy and drama recently. Not too serious but not too sappy.

Well it seems he found himself another movie where he'll get to make us laugh/cry.

Dogs Of Babel his newest film, is based off of a Carolyn Parkhurst novel.

Parkhurst's website has an official book synopsis:

"When his wife dies in a fall from a tree in their backyard, linguist Paul Iverson is wild with despair. In the days that follow, Paul becomes certain that Lexy's death was no accident. Strange clues have been left behind: unique, personal messages that only she could have left and that he is determined to decipher.

So begins Paul's fantastic and perilous search for the truth, as he abandons his every-day life to embark on a series of experiments designed to teach his dog Lorelei to communicate.

Is this the project of a madman? Or does Lorelei really have something to tell him about the last afternoon of a woman he only thought he knew? At the same time, Paul obsessively recalls the early days of his love for Lexy and the ups and downs of life with the brilliant, sometimes unsettling woman who became his wife."

So basically, it will be Steve Carell teaching a dog how to talk.

We'd sit down and watch that for two hours.

Talking Dogish: What Your Dog's Facial Expressions Mean

How To Read Your Dog's Facial Expressions

What's that boy?

Can't tell if your dog is trying to say "I love you" or "I gotta pee?"

Any dog owner will tell you that their four-legged family members speak volumes with their bodies. Here are some typical signals dogs use:

Face: Dogs will wrinkle or straighten their foreheads to show confusion or determination.

Eyes: A dog’s eyes brighten when he looks at a creature he considers friendly. When he is afraid, his pupils dilate and he shows the whites of his eyes.

Lips, teeth and tongue: If your dog is happy or wants to play, he may pull his lips back and show his teeth in what appears to be a smile. This is a gesture that is reserved only for human/dog communication; a dog will not do this with other dogs. (how crazy is that?)

Ears: If a dog’s ears are raised, he is relaxed or listening. If they are back, he might be signaling submission.

Nazis Tried To Breed An Army Of Talking Dogs

Nazis' Tried To Breed An Army Of Talking Dogs

CRAZZZZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In his new book Amazing Dogs: A Cabinet of Canine Curiosities, Cardiff University historian Jan Bondeson reveals obscure German periodicals that prove Lex Luthor Adolf Hitler, tried to breed an army of talking dogs.

According to the book, scientists envisioned a day when dogs would serve alongside German troops, and perhaps free up SS officers by guarding concentration camps.

So to unlock all that canine potential, Hitler set up a Tier-Sprechschule (Animal Talking School) near Hanover and recruited "educated dogs" from throughout the country.

Teachers claimed a number of incredible findings. Perhaps most outlandish is the claim by his German masters that he asked to serve in the German army because he disliked the French.

Another mutt barked "Mein Fuhrer" when asked to describe Hitler. And Don, a German pointer, is said to have imitated a human voice to bark, "Hungry! Give me cakes!" in German.

Talking Husky Says "Camera"

What do your owners always have in their hands?

Mishka, the dog made famous for saying (yes, actually saying) "I Love You" on Youtube, has learned another word!

There is something charming about Mishka. Her owners are lucky their talking dog is capable of speech and well mannered.

If Teddy ever started talking he'd probably never shut up!
