Not-always-reliable tabloid The National Enquirer is claiming that while Robert Pattinson's been away filming The Rover in Australia, Kristen Stewart has found ROMANTIC comfort in Katy Perry's assistant, Tamra Natisin (above)!

One "insider" — and we're using the term VERY loosely — shares:

This is kind of like wearing your man's sweater when he's away… except the sweaters in this case are actual living human beings!

To soothe her heart while Robert Pattinson films in Australia, Kristen Stewart is making the most of her time by partying with his pals.

Take Sunday for example. She and Tamra Natisin were all about the Marcus Foster gig at El Lay's Hotel Cafe.

Now, Tamra is Katy Perry's assistant, and we ALL know how close KatyKat and RobbieBoy are!!

Oh! And Marcus is Robert's buddy too. So basically it was just one big night of conjuring the sparkle child's spirit for KStew! LOL!

Sure, the Twilight stars have been together for YEARS (though their current situation lies in murky waters) so his pals likely became hers along the way, but it's interesting to note that all of her recent outings have included their MUTUAL buds!

Just a couple of weeks ago, she was dining with more friends of his at his favorite joint!

As a source says, she's "really missing" him these days, and even if their romantic status is tinkering on complications, they're "still really good friends," and Kristen will "do whatever it takes to make it work."

…which clearly means staying on good terms with the besties!
