Phew! That was close!

Famed R&B artist Lauryn Hill was almost sent upstate to the pokey today after pleading guilty to evading the tax man from 2005 to 2007!!!

In fact, she was sentenced to prison, but her magician of a lawyer bought her two extra weeks to try and raise the $968K she owes her favorite Uncle Sam!

Her sentencing is set for May 6 and apparently Mrz. Hill will try everything from taking out loans to inking

After being arrested for tax evasion, Stephen Baldwin has miraculously seen the error of his ways!

As long as it means he doesn't have to go to prison that is!

According to Stephen's lawyer, the Bio-Dome star will plead guilty and own up to his crimes — and pay back the $350,000 of course!

After five years of steady payments, the youngest of the Baldwin Brothers will be completely free without ever having to spend a night in prison!

Which is good cuz just because you're stuck in a bubble, that doesn't mean you can't start any t-t-t-trouble!

Man, $350K is a lot of money! Something tells us we're going to see a lot more Stephen Baldwin movies over the next five years!

July could either be a good month for rapper Ja Rule, or a bad month.

That all depends on whether or not he actually likes being in jail, as a New York City prison just set his release date for July!

You might be wondering what's going on, especially if you read that he was JUST RELEASED from the slammer last week after serving the better part of two years for illegal gun possession. The thing is, right when he got out, he went right into federal custody for tax evasion!

Talk about bad luck! You know, in case he doesn't like jail after all! LOLz!

The Feds say he's in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, and say his expected release date is July 28. The prison itself is meant for short-term sentences, and those waiting for court dates!

We would hope this is last of the legal trouble for him, regardless if he's really into the food or the firmness of the cots! Ha!

Ja Rule is free… Kind of!

Nearly two years after gun charges sent him away to Mid-State Correctional Facility, Ja Rule finally said sayonara to the slammer this morning!

But his troubles are far from over!

The I'm Real rapper still has that nasty tax issue on his plate!

Mzr. Rule was sentenced to 28 months after his federal tax evasion conviction in 2011 and, considering he remains in police custody at this very moment, we doubt The Man has forgiven or forgotten!

Ja's legal rep swears he may have only six months left on his sentence, though. And he will serve that time in a far friendlier establishment!

Keep your head up and your nose clean, good sir! We look forward to your inevitable comeback!

Uncle Sam is not happy with Fat Joe!!!

The former chart-topper, with rap hits like What's Luv and Make It Rain, has plead guilty to tax evasion this morning a New Jersey courthouse.

Joe came forward after being accused of withholding approximately $700,000 in taxs from 2007 to 2008!!!

He was released on $250,000 bail and will come back for his sentencing in April, which could land him in the slammer for up to 2 years!!!

Looks like Fat's wallet isn't as hefty as his waist anymore!!

A crime is a crime, Alec!

30 Rock super-stud Alec Balwdin sat down with our-favorite-CNN-anchor-whose-name-doesn't-rhyme-with-Schmanderson-Schmooper last night, and their topic of debate was Stevie Wonder Stevie's blunder!

Stephen Baldwin was arrested earlier this week for a repeated failure to properly file his income tax returns, so Piers Morgan brought Alec into the studio to document the family's side of the story!

Ch-ch-check out the Glengarry Glen Ross star vehemently defending his bro by blaming a callous and overly-critical media for blowing the whole FELONY arrest out of proportion (above)!

So, Stephen didn't pay his taxes because he was victimized by a cruel media? Hmmm… That's one way to look at it!

Cheating the government out of tax revenue is far less heinous than rape or murder, but it is still a crime!

The Slapshot 2: Breaking The Ice star, who allegedly owes over $350,000 in back taxes, is looking awfully smoldering for a man who could face four years in prison!

He's so money, and the Rockland County District Attorney's office didn't even know it!

Well, we don't care how handsome you are, or if you were in Bio-Dome!

In a month where the only political debate that matters is whether we need to increase taxes to keep from going over a fiscal cliff, we can't have anyone cheating the system!

Everyone has to pay their fair share, no matter how many films they have starred in, such as The Flintsones in Viva Rock Vegas.
