FOX Nabs Rights To 2018, 2022 World Cup Telecast

world cup

FOX Sports has beat out ESPN for the rights to televise the 2018 and 2022 FIFA soccer World Cup!

Despite losing the rights to broadcast all English-language FIFA events from 2015 through 2022, including the rights to the women's World Cup in 2015 and 2019, the Disney-owned sports network is still committed to soccer, saying:

"ESPN remains committed to presenting the sport of soccer at the highest level across our platforms with coverage of the UEFA European Football Championship, English Premier League, La Liga, MLS and other top leagues and tournaments, including the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.”

ESPN shouldn't feel to bad for losing the bidding war though. The network can still look forward to insane ratings and money from the 2014 World Cup!

If FOX Sports is anything like their "fair and balanced" counterpart, FOX News, we're sure they will find a way to make sure America looks like a winner in 2018 — regardless of the final score.

ABC Cut Josh Brolin And Javier Bardem Kissing At The Oscars!

abc-cuts-josh-brolin-javier-bardem-kiss-from-the-oscars

Again?! Seriously?!

Come on, guys!

Although the Academy Awards were an absolute snoozefest this year, it apparently didn't deter ABC from cutting one of the only interesting moments from the live telecast — Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem's 'gay kiss!'

When the two men walked out onto the stage at the ceremony, viewers at home only saw them engage in a brief dance before the camera jumped to an extended, awkward shot of Penelope Cruz - and that's because in actuality, the two men - who are actually close friends in real life - shared a little comedic mouth action!

ABC has refused to comment on the issue, and we think that it's frankly pretty shitty! For a network that airs a show like Brothers & Sisters, we have no idea why they continue to censor this sort of thing (anyone remember the Glambert debacle?)

Such an unbelievable shame, especially after the events of this past year. Get it together, guys.

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL.

Although the ratings for the actual ceremony were solid, but unimpressive, the E! Network's Live From The Red Carpet: The 2011 Academy Awards Show, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic, set a new record by drawing in nearly FOUR MILLION viewers, the most-watched pre-show telecast on the channel ever!

Nice!

We don't know how you managed to make the red carpet more interesting than the event, but you did, so congratulations!

LOLz! Thoughts??

Expect holiday messages from the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Joan Rivers, and Miranda Cosgrove, as well!

They've got a pretty nice selection of talent lined up this year! We're impressed!

What do U think?? Will U be tuning in??
