Donny Osmond has never supported GaGa's conduct. That's no secret, especially after the video for Telephone came out!
Now, he's being vocal about it again. He does, however, try and explain that he thinks she's super talented as an artist, writer, and marketer, attempting to soften the blow that the way she's grabbing attention is "cheap."
"First of all just let me make the statement: I think Lady Gaga is brilliant as a marketer, as a writer, as an artist — she is Madonna incarnated in my opinion. But I don't agree with a lot of the shock elements nowadays a lot of artists take to get their face on the cover, to get on the charts. In my opinion it is a cheap way to become popular. But I do think she's a very talented woman."
We suppose that you can both think something is brilliant but disagree with it at the same time, so we'll let that slide.
BUT, we do think that regardless of how someone becomes popular (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else), it's all about what they do with that popularity after the fact. Do they just continue on the same path, or do they use it to grow and have a voice?
If you look at it that way, we'd say that "cheap" or not, that's a pretty insignificant piece of the puzzle when the talent is there to carry the artist on in the right directions. Agreed??
Do U think Donny is right?
