Aww. Let's hug it out!

After Christian Bale’s emotional break down at the MTV Movie Awards last night, some critics are asking “why so serious?”

To hype up the audience for The Dark Knight Rises, MTV edited together a montage of the first two Batman films and played it while Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman were all on stage.

Included were several scenes of Heath Ledger’s posthumous portrayal of The Joker.

Bale was visibly choked up after viewing the stirring footage, even though it's been over four years since his friend and co-star passed away.

Batman smiled at the large crowd gathered at the Gibson Amphitheater and told them:

Terminator Salvation was not a critical success and one of it's biggest critics happens to be the franchise's biggest star!

In a recent interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger admits he thought the latest sequel to The Terminator was "awful." While talking about projects he'd like to be a part of, he told sources:

At least this wasn't as bad as Christian Bale's Terminator: Salvation rant!

During an interview with the Australian edition of Empire Magazine, Bale got pret-ty heated while discussing criticism he's received for his "trademark weight loss" in The Fighter, as well as other films.

Here's what Bale had to say about it:

"To be honest, I find it laughable that it's considered to be some f****** gimmick - it's so patronizing. For God's sake, do people not understand what a pain it is to do? It's as though it's some comment about, 'Oh it's easy for him, because he's done it a bunch of times.' It's not easy, it's not fun - it's horrible."

"I would never pick to do that, but it's a part that I like and he's a welterweight and he's a crackhead. I don't know about you, but I've never seen a welterweight with any fat on him - or a crackhead. So it's just what you end up having to do.

"Somebody told me that somebody wrote something about my "trademark weight loss". I'd just like to p*** on that guy's shoes."

Okay, so urinating on footwear is not the MOST pleasant image, but we agree that it's kind of lame to criticize Bale for losing weight for films.

Bale's appearance DEF made him a more believable crackhead in The Fighter. Our biggest concern would be how such drastic changes in weight might affect his health.

Chelsea Handler has landed her second studio role in the McG-directed comedy This Means War, opposite Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine.

Handler just completed work on her first studio role opposite Russell Brand, in Universal Pictures/Illumination Entertainment's CG-live action film, Hop.

One good thing about her new movie project aside from Tom Hardy is that McG couldn't possibly do a worse job than he did with Terminator: Salvation, and Chelsea Handler couldn't be any worse than she was at the VMAs.

Our curiosity is piqued mostly because of Tom Hardy.
