Several animal rights groups have written the London 2012 organizers to try and persuade the director of the opening ceremony, Danny Boyle, to not use live animals.

The opening ceremony planned to use 100 farm animals in the show, but animal groups warn them they may face severe consequences.

Under the 2006 Animal Welfare Act, it is illegal to intentionally cause undue fear and distress to animals.

There are six groups in total agreement that the experience of being in the show would be "highly stressful and probably terrifying experience for them."

The groups are Animal Aid, Animal Defenders International, Captive Animals Protection Society, Compassion in World Farming, Peta and Viva.

They want Boyle to use puppets and animatronics.

The lead organizers of the Olympics said that they will be working closely with the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals to make sure the animals are "better looked after than the volunteers."

We bet it's too late at this point to just scrap the whole animal part.

Let's hope the show really conforms to all the animal laws or else Danny Boyle might have a whole lotta angry people to deal with.

When it comes to raw power, nothing in the history of time matches the bite force of the T.rex.

Researchers in the UK scanned in a real T. rex head and made a 3-D model.

We think this proves that dogs and humans are natural companions AND everyone should go adopt a puppy right now!! LOL.

This SUCKS!

The "One Dog Per-Household" Law Shanghai announced in February will start being enforced this Sunday.

The Chinese government is hoping to cut down the crowded city's dog population, but right now it's just terrifying loyal dog owners.

Cao Yi started walking her dog early in the morning hoping to avoid trouble both with neighbors and with the authorities over her brown poodle and golden retriever.

"I'm afraid one of the dogs might be taken away," she said.

The new rule means either finding a new home for one of her pets or registering one with her parents.

Apparently, Jackson Galaxy is a musician by night and a cat behaviorist by day. We're guessing he's like the kitty version of the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan.

His job is too help the train wreck excuse for cats — and their crazy owners — work through issues.
