The OTHER thing is, it's easy to avoid, really.

Nah!

Especially if the idea of having kids is super important to you — it's an easy trade!

No, Katherine Heigl doesn't hate sports. She hates testicles.

Really. She really, really hates balls.

She even refers to the them as "disgusting, dangly things."

And no being will ever be 100% cute in her book if they still have the "shriveled, ugly" 2% left hanging around.

So she's on a mission. To rid the world of all unnecessary balls.

This is so sad!

Wesley Warren, Jr., a 47-year-old man who lives in Las Vegas, is suffering from what doctors call scrotal lymphedema. The condition has made his scrotum swell up with so much fluid that it weighs 100 pounds!

His scrotum is so large that his penis is buried underneath the scrotal tissue and he is no longer able to direct is urination spray.

The unfortunate condition, a result of an accidental striking of his testicles by his own leg in his sleep, has left him severely depressed. Although he avoids suicidal thoughts, he can't help but to break down in tears for minutes at a time on a regular basis, explaining:

"When I think about the penis being sucked into the testicle sack, unable to use it like a normal 47-year-old person uses a penis, other than for it to just dribble urine out when it comes out. I think a lot of other people that are not stronger would have at least attempted suicide by now. So i think I am well deserved of my 5 minutes every couple of days."

Ugh! This makes us want to cry ourselves!

The swelling is so disabling that he can no longer work and can't even sit on the toilet for a bowel movement.

He's visited dozens of doctors, including a lymphedema specialist, who have all prescribed antibiotics that do nothing. It is apparent now that surgery is necessary, but his state Medicaid won't cover the operation that will cost up to $1 million!

Reindeer in Norway are getting castrated.

But don't worry. It's a good thing!

The Arctic region is warming at double the global rate and researchers studying the indigenous Sami peoples in the Arctic say castrated male reindeer can cope with climate change more effectively, as compared to reindeer who still have a pair.

Inneresting.

Due to the Arctics varying temperatures, snow can melt and often refreeze to form thick ice over grazing pastures, but sterilized reindeer grow larger and can break through the ice easier.

Svein Mathiesen, coordinator of the University of the Arctic's Institute of Circumpolar Reindeer Husbandry said:

"To make herds more resilient in the future, we need to re-learn the traditional knowledge of castration."

What's the traditional knowledge of castration?

Sami reindeer herders typically BITE into the animal's testicles with their teeth!

Yuck! We'll pass.

This bitting technique is called "half-castration", which causes the animal to become sterile, but still produce some of the male hormone testosterone that promotes muscle growth.

Norway laws limit castration techniques to surgery with anesthetics, and no biting, so they are experimenting with a vaccine to recreate the effects of half-castration.

Castration aside, the survival of this species is important for these Arctic peeps because they rely on these creatures as their chief export as well as use them for practical uses like pulling large sleds.

LOL! Listen Up!

The tuberous bushcricket has the largest testicles, in relation to its body weight, of any other creature in the world!!

OMG!

This cricket's testes make up 13.8% of its body mass! These organs almost filled up this cricket's entire abdomen!

Karim Vahed, an ecologist at the University of Derby in Britain explained that,

"extra large testes in bushcrickets allow males to transfer relatively small ejaculates to a greater number of females. Males don't put all their eggs — or rather sperm — in one basket."

Wait WHAT?

Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet are appearing together in a segment of the anthology film Untitled Comedy, and apparently the content is so out there that even co-star Emma Stone would rather promote them than the part of the movie she's in!

She says:

"But wait until you see the Kate Winslet/Hugh Jackman one. That’s the only other one I’ve seen. The humor is so raunchy. I can’t give it away, but theirs is called The Catch. He’s a bachelor… but there’s a catch. She’s going on a date with this bachelor, and you will not believe what you see when you see it. It’s so fucking funny. It’s so funny."

Well, we let the curiousity get the better us and found out the deets on their short, and HOLY SHIZ! They really do go there!
