Clint Eastwood's youngest son Scott Eastwood has just signed on to star as the male lead in upcoming horror reboot The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.

Kind of a different direction from movies that Scott acted in previously, such as Invictus and Gran Torino, but it IS a lead role, so we suppose this is a actually a good opportunity for him.

And hey! Maybe they can bring on Clint to direct! Then the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise would FINALLY have a shot at making it to the Oscars! Ha!

Does that character REALLY have to be popping out of the screen at us? Yuck!

We previously announced that a new addition to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise was in the works, this time in 3D, and now, it appears that it will be coming as early as October 2012!

According to producer Carl Mazzocone:

"I'm excited to reconceive this iconic horror classic in a contemporary setting for a new generation of horror fans to enjoy. Both John Luessenhop and I intend to deliver a new chapter derived from Tobe Hooper's 1973 masterpiece with the goal of making it as horrifying as the original, in 3D."

Inneresting!

Especially because if all stays the same, this flick will be battling another reboot of a horror classic in 3D in the box office upon release - Halloween 3D!

We wonder which will butcher the original less! LOLz!

Let's just hope they put more effort into this one than they did for Clash of the Titans Saw 3D…

Back in November, we learned that a 3D Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, Leatherface 3D, was in the early stages of development.

Now, almost six months later, we've finally got some new deets on the project!

Here are the most recent updates about the upcoming 3d chainsaw-blood-fest:

- Takers director John Luessenhop is in talks to direct

- A third draft of the screenplay has been turned in by screenwriters Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus, and Stephen Susco

- Writer Kristen Elms was hired to "re-tool" the screenplay

Hopefully they'll be able to get the screenplay right next time around!

After a five year break, we're thinking horror fans are ready for more Leatherface in their lives!

The only thing scarier than a Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a 3D Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

Now that the Saw franchise is over for now, looks like Lions Gate and Twisted Pictures are planning to scare the crap out of us next with another addition to the Chainsaw franchise, Leatherface 3D.

The film's plot will pick up immediately after the events from the original Chainsaw film, and then they'll flash forward 35 years into the future.

Leatherface 3D is being produced by Carl Mazzocone and Saw producer Mark Burg. The screenplay is being written by Debra Sullivan and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday screenwriter Adam Marcus.

The infamous Cat Lady, Jocelyn Wildenstein, caught a flight out of LAX looking yesterday looking like a made-up Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and honestly, we've never laughed harder - out of sheer discomfort!

Seriously, that face is going to haunt us forever!

We wonder if she realizes how horrifying she is, or if she truly believes she looks beautiful.

So sad.
