The Addams Family To Close On Broadway!

Well this is unfortunate!

Broadway's run with The Addams Family will end on December 31.

Well.. it's unfortunate for New Yorkers anyways. After the show ends its 725 performance run, they're going on the road with a national tour!

The tour will launch on September 15 in New Orleans.

Horror fan? Musical fan? Brooke Shields fan? Then you're in luck, because they're coming your way!

Creepy! Spooky! Kooky!

PERFECT!

On June 28th, Brooke Shields will be joining the cast of The Addams Family on Broadway as the matriarch Morticia Addams. It's been seven years since Brooke has been on a Broadway stage, but judging by this first look at her in the family garb and iconic hair, we think she's going to feel right at home!

Of the role, which she is taking over for BeBe Neuwirth, Brooke says:

"She's truly a woman, and also a mom, which is an interesting piece of the puzzle"

Fab! Fab! Fab!

You were born to wear that weave, girl!

Wicked Kills It Over Thanksgiving Holiday!

wicked-makes-broadway-histo.jpg

This was a HUGE week for Broadway!

Thanksgiving brought tourists to NYC and sales on the Great White Way went through the roof.

Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark brought in $200,605 for its first preview performance on Sunday, but Wicked was the clear winner for the weekend. The show earned $2,150,665 this week, making it the top single-week total in Broadway history.

And every show in the top 10 pulled in over a million dollars! The Lion King ($1,870,565) broke a house record and Elf ($1,406,283) jumped up 63% from last week.

Not far behind was The Addams Family ($1,299,371), Promises, Promises ($1,077,802), Mary Poppins ($1,206,630), The Phantom of the Opera ($1,024,656) and The Merchant of Venice ($1,160,360).

Impressive. Did U go to NYC for Thankgiving?!

Tim Burton Gearing Up For New Addams Family Flick!

timwenn2875666.jpg

Time to get cracking on this!

Sources confirm that Tim Burton is forging ahead on his Addams Family stop-motion animated film. He has reunited with his Ed Wood screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski to take on the project.

Along with writing the Addams flick, Tim has decided to jump on the writer's bandwagon and produce their new venture Big Eyes, a movie based on the real-life struggles of artist Margaret Keane.

Yeah, that one sounds Zzzzz, but we can't wait to see what Tim does with The Addams Family. He is just the kind of director a movie like this needs.

Course, we don't know how convincing Johnny Depp is going to be as Gomez. (Because who else is going to voice the main character in a Tim Burton flick.)

The Addams Family To Go Animated!

On the big-screen!

An animated version of The Addams Family is in the very early stages of development in the hopes that Tim Burton will direct the film, according to producer Christopher Meledandri.

The film is also planned for stop motion instead of computer animation and Meledandri says:

"We're just now at the story phase. Stuff has been written as though we are doing it in black and white, but that's not correct. It's not incorrect, but it's not correct. We haven't gotten to that point."

Inneresting!

Do U want to see another Addams Family flick?
