To think, we used to have to fill our Summers with Bachelor Pad instead…

It's no secret we already thought Bachelor in Paradise perfected the reality TV dating formula this season… but after Tuesday night's finale, we officially know it for sure!

That's because after enduring 30 contestants over the course of 11 short episodes, four couples managed to make it to finale night ready to propose.

All's fair in love and war.

Bachelor Nation was sent into a tizzy on Tuesday night when it was announced that former villain Nick Viall would be making the switch from contestant to suitor next season.

The 35-year-old software sales executive was a surprise choice given the hit ABC franchise's recent penchant for picking their leads solely from the most previous season only… but it was also a shock for a completely separate reason:

Luke Pell already thought he had the job!!!

You can't win 'em all…

While most of Bachelor Nation is absolutely ecstatic about longtime vet Nick Viall's surprise casting, his exes might not be as supportive.

And by "exes," we really just mean Andi Dorfman… because Kaitlyn Bristowe couldn't be happier for the two-time runner-up!

Kaitlyn famously chose fiancé Shawn Booth over late-returner Nick during Season 11 of The Bachelorette, but she seemed rather excited for her ex during a conversation with US Weekly on Wednesday, saying:

"I'm happy for him! Everyone deserves to find someone. I hope it works out."

Us too, Kaitlyn!

On the other hand… Andi still seems a little pissed about that time he more or less called her out for sleeping with him on national television only to then pick his rival Josh Murray.

In fact, in her new book, It's Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Never After, the former Bachelorette takes her own shot at Nick's "ladyboner-killing, awkward sexual encounter," saying:

The two-hour drama-fest began exactly where Monday night's episode left off with Caila Quinn threatening to leave the island due to Ashley Iaconetti's obsession with her flirtmance Jared Haibon.

However, the love triangle wasn't the only trouble in paradise – Josh Murray and Amanda Stanton also had to make a big decision about their fates in the game… but in the end, only one couple (throuple?) survived.
