Leave it to Chris Martin to spread more holiday cheer than Santa himself!
On Wednesday, the Coldplay frontman traveled to The Bowery Mission homeless shelter in New York City — and delivered a wonderful holiday gift with the help of his musical talents!
The very same night, the Hymn for the Weekend singer decided to host an impromptu benefit concert at the Mercury Lounge! AH-Mazing!

Like something straight out of a holiday Hallmark movie, Martin helped raise over $4,000 for the mission through ticket sales from the sold out event.
Audience members were treated to a mixture of Coldplay songs, along with special performances of Prince's Purple Rain, David Bowie's Life on Mars?, and The Beatles' classic Yesterday.
Mission's Director of Outreach James Macklin said the performer "lifted our spirits," telling E! News:
"Chris Martin proved once again the power of one person to make a difference through The Bowery Mission. As the temperatures drop and we serve thousands of lonely people during the holidays, Chris has lifted our spirits today."
What a way to end the year before spending the holidays eating Gwyneth Paltrow's Christmas goose!
Fans can send donations through the organization's website.
