Another contestant has been sent packing!

American Idol is trimming the fat and sending hopeful singers on their way home.

After performances of The Beatles greatest hits, some contestants needed major Help! from voters, but it didn’t happen for all.

The bottom three with the least votes from fans were Amber Holcomb, Devin Velez and Paul Jolley after shaky performances, but only one would see their run end last night.

So who won’t be fighting for the American Idol crown?

American Idol is getting damn SERIOUS!

Now that the show is down to the Top 9, it’s all business even if some of it is a little brutal.

And Nicki Minaj ain’t afraid to weed out the weak performers!

While the contestants got their groove on with songs by The Beatles, not all of them did the fab four justice.

Nicki ripped into Paul Jolley for his lackluster performance of Eleanor Rigby as she commented:

John Waters wants you to know that he did indeed write an entire sequel to Hairspray, and to prove it he's dishing with a synopsis!

We have never seen someone put so much effort into not wanting something to get made — so if you DON'T want the sequel to your 1988/2007 movie/musical to ever get made, this is the plot you write for it. It's a fool-proof plan! LOLz!

Seriously, the term "jumping the shark" was coined for both shows that literally jump sharks and for sequels with SINGING ZITS.

And, don't get us wrong, we love Mr. Waters, but we have no idea if he's punkin' us on this one!
