The Evil Dead remake has its replacement star!

Jane Levy, whom you may recognize from the ABC sitcom Suburgatory, is reportedly in negotiations to take over for Lily Collins, who exited production of the Fede Alvarez-directed feature, as Mia, a young woman recovering from a recent overdose and heading to the remote cabin in the woods with five friends and - yeah, you know the drill!

Lily Collins is on fire right now!

First the Blind Side, then Abduction, then the upcoming Mirror Mirror Snow White movie, and now we're hearing she's going to be starring in The Evil Dead remake!

We LOVE The Evil Dead, and are skeptical about a remake (not too sure Diablo Cody should be writing it…), but we're glad Lily has been cast — even if Abduction didn't do so well (and Mirror Mirror looks rushed).

Get ready for more deadites!

Back in July, we heard that Sam Raimi was planning a remake of his 1981 horror cult classic The Evil Dead!

We were kind of excited about it, especially because we'd heard that Sam was talking about making the movie for a low budget, just like he did for the original!

Now, we're hearing that Sony Pictures has made a deal to distribute the flick, which is being put together by FilmDistrict and Ghost House Pictures.

Here's what producer Rob Tapert had to say about the project in a statement:
