Can fabulous cheekbones and an insouciant attitude help sell perfume?
The peeps at Calvin Klein are banking on it as they've cast the broody Rooney Mara in their latest ad campaign for new scent Downtown.
The actress wears a leather jacket and leans back against a red-brick wall in the first released ad (above) shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
The fragrance itself, which boasts notes of Tunisian neroli, green pear and watery plum, will be available in stores nationwide in September.
Sounds YUMZ!
In addition to the ad campaign, Roons will star in a commercial for the perfume directed by David Fincher, who directed the actress in The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
That's a lot of talent in one commercial! It better be damn good!

Colin Farrell is going Down!
Er, we mean he's starring in the new movie Dead Man Down, directed by original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy helmer Niels Arden Oplev.
Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to see Colin, Noomi Rapace, and Terrence Howard share amazing words of praise for the auteur.
And to see some action-packed (and shirtless!) clips of the movie!

Noooooo!
We've known for a while now that David Fincher's sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo keeps getting pushed back to the point of being in jeopardy, so we were HOPING Rooney Mara could fill us in with a little bit about what's going on there.
Turns out, there isn't even a script yet!
During an interview about her next flick, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, she was asked point blank on a red carpet about it — she responded with:

We already know that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo won't be playing with fire any time in 2013, but will she EVER get around to kicking that hornet's nest??
Despite Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara being up for more sex scenes crime-solving action, director David Fincher still won't commit!
We know David is a crazy busy guy, what with his TV work and kickstarter CGI movie, but maybe he could just consult with a new director to keep the vision consistent?
Otherwise, we may never know if this totally awesome franchise is even going to become a franchise!
Actually, there is one more thing we could try…
"Reply hazy. Try again." Crap! Too bad we don't have Lisbeth to blackmail a director!

Perhaps they feel unfocused starring in a movie with not title? Maybe? No? We tried!
Ryan Gosling is living the actor's dream right now!
Not only is he getting all sorts of acclaim for pretty much every performance he gives, but he's starring in the next Terrence Malick movie!
As Rachel Weisz, Barry Pepper, Amanda Peet and Michael Sheen recently learned however, that doesn't mean he'll necessarily make the final cut.
Considering we're pretty sure the movie revolves around him and Rooney Mara, we're feeling good vibes on his behalf.
The talented actors

Wow. We seriously hope that this is NOT true!
While David Fincher's adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was a critical success - and even nabbed its star Rooney Mara an Academy Award nomination - it apparently did not make enough money for the studio head honchos to feel confident in beginning production on its sequel, The Girl Who Played With Fire!

Oooh! This is a good category!
And it became an even BETTER category when the cast of Magic Mike jumped on stage together!
And Elizabeth Banks, who won the MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Transformation, was clearly delighted to be surrounded by man candy like Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum, and Joe Manganiello IN A FIREMAN OUTFIT!
Dyinnnng!
Congratulations, gurl! We know you appreciated it!
