Richard Linklater Demands The Stage As He Wins The Critics' Choice Award For Best Director!

And just like that, one of the biggest awards at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards is gone!

But that's only because Richard Linklater won it!

The man behind Boyhood won the award for Best Director, and we have to say, none of the other pieces could really compare to his 12-year project.

It's seriously one of a kind!

To win the honor, Richard beat out Wes Anderson for The Grand Budapest Hotel, Ava DuVernay for Selma, David Fincher for Gone Girl, Alejandro G. Inarritu for Birdman, and Angelina Jolie for Unbroken.

Congrats again, Richard!

Ch-ch-check out his unjustly rushed acceptance speech (above)!!!

Birdman Flies Away With The Critics' Choice Award For Best Acting Ensemble

There was some stiff competition, but Birdman flew away with first Critics' Choice Movie Award of the night!

Alejandro González Iñárritu's black comedy won the award for Best Acting Ensemble thanks to the excellent work from Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Amy Ryan, and Andrea Riseborough.

While crushing its competition, Birdman beat out the casts from Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Into the Woods, and Selma.

Birdman was the most nominated film of the entire night, so it's no surprise that it started off with a win.

We wonder if it'll be able to sweep all 13 of its categories!?

Talk about an upset!

Despite being a rather famous director, Wes Anderson just won his first ever Golden Globe on Sunday!

The Grand Budapest Hotel won one of the highest honors of the night by taking the award for Best Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical.

In order to win, the film beat out Birdman by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Into the Woods by Rob Marshall, Pride by Matthew Warchus, and St. Vincent by Theodore Melfi.

Who knows? Maybe this will be a precursor of what's to come at this year's Academy Awards.

What a GREAT night for Richard Linklater!

The fabulous Richard won Best Director at the Golden Globe Awards for the much celebrated Boyhood.

Considering the film took 12 years to make, we think the win is more than well-deserved!!!

Linklater beat out the amazing Wes Anderson, Ava DuVernay, David Fincher, and Alejandro González Iñárritu for the coveted awards.

It's a fantastic evening for Boyhood — earlier in the evening Patricia Arquette won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.

Birdman Wins The Golden Globe Award For Best Screenplay

Nope, you don't need to do a double take! Well, mostly because this film is practically one take.

When it came to honoring the scribes' duty of penning some of the year's best films, the Golden Globe Awards gave the gold to Alejandro González Iñárritu, Nicolás Giacobone, Armando Bo, & Alexander Dinelaris, Jr for writing Birdman.

Taking home the award for Best Screenplay, these four beat out Wes Anderson for writing The Grand Budapest Hotel, Gillian Flynn for writing Gone Girl, Richard Linklater for Boyhood, and Graham Moore for The Imitation Game.

Congrats!

We should've seen this coming!

Who else but Tilda Swinton would be the first to wear Schiaparelli Couture?! She's a true fashionista!

The actress attended the premiere of The Grand Budapest Hotel at the Berlinale Film Festival yesterday, and chose a debonair look from the brand new spring couture collection.

She was like a sophisticated pirate in the black suit and ruffled white blouse, but the piece de resistance was definitely her feathered sandals!

Those things were something else!
