Tension Between Due Date Co-Stars Over Mel Drama

due date co stars are tense over mel gibson drama

Robert Downey Jr. is NOT happy with his Due Date co-star Zach Galifianakis for his involvement in getting Mel fired from Hangover 2.

According to Downey Jr., Mel taught him about second chances and cast him in The Singing Detective, after he got out of jail.

In an effort to repay the favor, Downey was influential in getting Mel the cameo in Hangover 2, and it became pretty tense between the Due Date stars after Mel lost the role.

Sources say that Downey felt Mel deserved another chance, and that he's "pissy" with Galifianakis for his big part in getting Mel fired.

We're certainly happy that Mel was able to help bring about Robert Downey Jr.'s resurgence, especially since he's done a lot of great stuff lately, but we still have to veer closer to Galifianakis' side on this one.

Who do U side with? Robert Downey Jr. or Zach Galifianakis?

Mike Tyson On Mel Gibson

mike tyson weighs in on mel gibson

There's been all types of drama surrounding Mel Gibson being fired from The Hangover 2, and it seems to be overwhelmingly anti-Gibson.

For the first time, we've got somebody besides Jodie Foster who is willing to defend Mel Gibson…or at least sort of defend him!

Here's what Mike Tyson had to say about Mel:

"I'm not going to ever in my life point my finger at anyone. I don't live in a glass house. None of us do. I work with anybody, as long as they're respectful. We all have that guy — a Mel Gibson — in us. We just don't want people to be exposed to it. Maybe he needs to go get help. We all need help, and need someone to talk to. I'm not against him, but I'm not for him."

We're not sure if we're entirely on board, but admittedly you make a couple of surprisingly valid comments, Mike.

What do U think of Tyson's comments? Do you have a "Mel Gibson" in you?

Hangover 2 star Zach Galifianakis Pulls A Mel!

zach galifianakis pulls a mel against hangover 2 director

We understand he was joking around when he did this, but given his feelings toward Mel, this MAY not have been the best joke choice ever.

During the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala yesterday, Zach Galifianakis called Hangover 2 director Todd Phillips "the worst Jew in Hollywood." He then said "That's an inside joke."

The joke is obviously referring to the drama surrounding Mel Gibson, who is notoriously known for his comment "Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," and who was fired from The Hangover 2 because the cast and crew didn't want him there.

What do U think of Galifianakis' joke? Completely innocent? Or does it hit too close to home because of Mel controversy?

Hangover Director Defends Decision To Fire Mel

He really didn't have to though. We all pretty much got it.

For a split second, it had seemed like Mel Gibson had been given his career back, scoring a coveted spot in the cast of Hangover II. The whole world was abuzz about the news, but not in a good way. What was good for Mel didn't seem right for everyone else, including of the cast's main guys, Zach Galifianakis.

Though it wasn't confirmed, many believe it was because of Zach protesting that Mel got fired from the movie. Now, the director, Todd Phillips, has decided to defend his decision. He explained to sources:

"He's one of our finest actors and, quite honestly, one of our finest directors. But The Hangover II is a family … and as much as I loved the idea, a lot of people didn't … I didn't want anything to come in between that family."

Sounds like Zach got his way to us!

Wonder if anyone will ever consider Mel a "fine" actor again?

Mad Mel Pissed At Hangover Producers

mel gibson pissed at hangover 2 producers for firing him

If you give Mel Gibson a cameo, he's going to want to keep it.

Mel is NOT happy to lose his role in The Hangover 2, which could have been a comeback for the actor.

Here's what a source close to Mel had to say about it:

"He doesn't understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance."

Alan Nierob, who represents Gibson, made a statement that hinted at Mel's anger about being let go. Ironically, Nierob also represents Liam Neeson, who was hired to replace Mel.

Do U think it was wrong of Hangover 2 producers to fire Mel? OR do U think he had it coming?

Liam Neeson Takes Over Mel's Hangover Cameo!

liam neeson replaces mel in hangover 2

This is a MUCH better idea!

After Warner Bros' misguided decision to cast Mel Gibson in a cameo in The Hangover 2 went horribly awry, the studio decided to let him go and cast somebody slightly less polarizing…Liam Neeson!

Here's what Neeson had to say about his role in Hangover 2:

"I just got a call to do a one day shoot on 'Hangover' as a tattooist in Thailand … that's all I know about it."

We couldn't be happier to see Neeson taking on this role. We're sure he's going to be absolutely HIGHlarious!

Do U think Warner Bros made the right decision here? Or would U have liked to see Mel play the role?

Mel Out Of Hangover Sequel

mel gibson cut from hangover sequel because of backlash

Easy come, easy go.

Warner Bros., after seeing the backlash on the Internet from fans against the studio, has decided to drop Mel Gibson from the roster of Hangover II.

We're sure there were a lot of people at the studio who thought this kind of stunt casting would bring in the crowds. Little did they know that the public would turn on them in outrage as soon as the news broke. Funny though, it took the masses to finally convince execs to drop Mel, while one of their own stars was adamantly against the stunt as well

Source infer from a recent interview that Zach Galifianakis was not thrilled at the prospect of working with Mel. He had told one reporter, without pointing fingers:

"A movie you're acting in, you don't have a lot of control; you just show up and vomit your lines out. I'm not the boss. I'm in deep protest right now about a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to [listen]. … I'm not making any leeway."

The world was on your side on this one, Zach! Ask and somehow, you will receive.

Looks like no comeback for you, Mel. Now what?
