True crime. So hot right now.

Making a Murderer became an unsuspected hit in late 2015 when it debuted on Netflix and introduced America to the story of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey and their involvement in the murder of Teresa Halbach.

The public consensus seems to point to police incompetence or an unfair trial, and while it's hard to think about, this is far from the only documented true crime story of its kind.

In fact, the genre has been exploding recently thanks to other hits like Serial and The Jinx.

But there's a lot more out there for you to binge watch if Steven Avery's case enraged you as much as it did us!

Arrested Development Season Five Is Coming Soon — And It's Donald Trump Meets Making A Murderer!

The Bluth clan is coming back — with controversy in tow!

The so-so season four of Arrested Development saw Lindsay urging the U.S. to build a wall to "keep Mexicans out" — which turned out to be VERY timely!

Now that real-life Donald Trump has proven to parallel that story line with his own (much less funny) racism, show creator Mitch Hurwitz is rushing to get season five out ASAP!

Related: See Chris Hemsworth Go Shirtless In This Wonderful Arrested Development Mashup!

According to reports, Hurwitz is working around the clock with a team of writers to release the fifth season ahead of the November presidential elections — but this time around it won't just be Trump who's parodied on the cult-favorite show!

Apparently, season five is all set up to be a serialized murder mystery in addition to having a Trump angle, with Hurwitz drawing inspiration from three true-crime tales that broke BIG in the last calendar year: Serial, The Jinx, and now Making A Murderer.

We can only imagine how AD will take on THAT story line with their well-patented brand of humor!!!

We don't have dates for release or anything yet, but word has it Hurwitz wants to start production soon — and they'll need to, if season five is going to be available before the election in November!

Robert Durst Makes Extradition Deal With Feds — See Why The Jinx Is 'Eager' To Face Murder Charges In Los Angeles!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooLegal MattersSad Sad

Robert Durst is heading back to the West Coast.

Earlier this year, the subject of the HBO docu-series The Jinx was charged with murder for the 2000 execution-style shooting of his college friend Susan Berman — allegedly to keep her from talking to investigators about the disappearance of his first wife in 1982.

Next summer, the New York real estate heir will return to El Lay to face the murder charges — and possibly the death penalty.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said the former fugitive agreed to be extradited from New Orleans by August 18, 2016.

According to court filings, the 72-year-old has struck a plea deal with federal prosecutors on a federal gun charge — which has kept him held in Louisiana since March.

One of Durst's lawyers, Dick DeGuerin, said in a statement that the extradition deal was:

"Part of our effort to have Robert Durst face and defeat the California murder charge as soon as possible. Bob Durst didn't kill Susan Berman and doesn't know who did… He is eager to go to trial and prove his innocence."

We're not sure what will come of this extradition agreement, but hopefully the truth comes out and justice will be served.

The Jinx Villain Robert Durst May Pay For More Crimes — He's Being Sued For $100 Million By His Missing Wife's Family!

This sure would make for an interesting second season…

The story of an HBO mini-series turned real-life murder scandal captured most of America in 2015, and it looks like Robert Durst's legal problems just got even worse.

After the real estate heir was arrested for first-degree murder the day before the finale of The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, the 72-year-old is now facing yet another lawsuit.

Kathleen McCormack was Robert's wife from 1973 until she went missing in 1982, and although her death was never confirmed, her family is now suing her ex for $100 million!

Kathie's 101-year-old mother Ann McCormack and three sisters have filed a suit against Robert on the grounds that he denied them the right to a proper funeral after committing the alleged murder, and if they win, they'll be taking almost his entire fortune.

Robert has been in jail since March and will most likely be sentenced to five years more years on a gun charge he received after his mini-series aired in February.

Of course, he could face even more time behind bars thanks to his televised murder admission.

But will the best evidence against him even be admissible?

In a Today show interview Tuesday morning, lawyer Dick DeGuerin stated that he believed L.A. prosecutors who charged Durst with murder "jumped the gun because of the television show."

DeGuerin is arguing that Durst's stunning confession — that he made while speaking to himself in the bathroom while still wearing a live mic — should be ignored! He argued:

Robert Durst Officially Charged With Murder & May Even Face The Death Penalty

Robert Durst, subject of HBO's The Jinx, has been officially charged with murder in the 2000 execution-style killing of his friend Susan Berman on Christmas Eve.

L.A. County prosecutors accuse the 71-year-old of allegedly lying in wait, and killing a witness, which makes him eligible for the death penalty if he's found guilty.

[ Related: Robert Durst Arrested ]

Robert was taken into custody this past weekend in New Orleans after L.A. authorities claimed to have revealed new evidence allegedly tying Robert to Susan's death.

Police in New York had wanted to discuss with Susan, a crime writer, about her knowledge regarding the disappearance of Kathleen Durst, Robert's first wife.

According to sources, prosecutors think that Robert allegedly shot Susan in the head to stop her from cooperating with the investigation.

Of course, this comes on the heels of Robert speaking into a live mic, which he may or may not have known was on, in the last scene of The Jinx that he "killed them all, of course."

We'll keep you posted as more updates on this shocking story come in.
