After this past The Mindy Project episode, the whole world was witness to an on-screen spark — an even brighter one than when Mindy and BJ Novak were on The Office together!

But, in a turn of cruel fate, the storyline of the show kinda matched their own real-life relationship… the idea that two friends could be so perfect for each other, but they never realize it, even though the world can see it! Ha!

Here's what BJ said about their relationship:

“We are pretty inseparable best friends with a lot of chemistry ourselves, and we’re not dating. Whenever we date anyone else, I think there’s a period where the person is very skeptical of our friendship — ‘Everyone seems to think you two might be a couple, and I don’t mean to get in the way. Are you sure you’re not dating? Are you sure you’re not going to end up dating?’ It’s such a common thing to have that platonic best friend that becomes a little weird when you start dating someone.”

We understand that, but we also feel like that's a HUGE bummer and missed opportunity!!

Oh well, at least he has a two episode arc… and we can totally pretend they're together one more time!

We wonder if BJ will be jealous of Seth Rogen… ha!

Mindy Kaling's new show The Mindy Project is off to a great start and Fox now promises to give the sitcom an entire year to iron out its wrinkles!

After only a few weeks of modest yet promising ratings, the network ordered a full 22 episode first season!!

New mama Hilary Duff came out to celebrate Mindy Kaling's new FOX sitcom, The Mindy Project, at Skybar on Saturday night.

For the West Hollywood soiree, Mrs. Comrie was looking super chic ensemble, pairing a two-tone Mason by Michelle Mason top with Current/Elliott leather pants and Casadei heels.

A Marni clutch, and natural hair and makeup finished the look.

The actress has been seen all over El Lay getting her post-baby-bod in shape and it certainly seems to be working!
