Another one bites the dust!

Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Studios have announced that after the second season wraps, The Nate Berkus Show will be canceled, most likely due to its high cost to produce and also to make room on the schedule for new NBC and CBS talk shows coming from Steve Harvey and Jeff Probst!

How To Woo Potential Guests For A Talk Show, According To Nate Berkus!

nate-berkus-show-letter-to-guest-slams-martha-stewart-and-wendy-williams

Wow! He certainly has a 'take no prisoners' attitude, doesn't he?!

Apparently, Nate Berkus was so bent on securing a specific (but unindentified) celebrity as a guest on his daytime talk show, that he had no problem throwing his competition - Martha Stewart and Wendy Williams - under the bus as a ploy to win them over!

Check out some HIGHlights from a pitch letter that he sent their people (below)!

It reads:

NATE OUTDELIVERS MARTHA

·Nate delivers more than one million more viewers than Martha's Hallmark show. Nate averages about 1.2 million total viewers so far this season, while Martha's talk show averages only about 220,000 total viewers.

NATE IMPROVES TIME PERIODS, WHILE WENDY UNDERPERFORMS THEM

·This November, Nate delivers a 0.6 rating among Women 25-54, building its time periods from a 0.5 base, up +20 percent over last November.

·Wendy Williams also delivers a 0.6 rating among Women 25-54, but that is down from its time periods' 0.7 last year, -14 percent.

Wow!

clASSy move, bb!

The real question is, however, if the kind of people to whom he sends that kind of pitch actually respond positively to it! Personally, we'd find it a little tacky!

Mother And Brother Of Gay Suicide Victim Speak Out

Filed under: TV NewsGay Gay GayInspirationSad Sad

Truly heartbreaking. Such a brave family.

Ever since 13-year-old Seth Walsh tragically took his life in September after being the victim of relentless bullying in school over his sexuality, his mother Wendy has become an outspoken advocate for gay youth, in hopes to prevent a similar kind of fate from happening to anyone else.

Check out this truly touching clip of she, as well as Seth's brother Shawn, speaking out about their horrible loss on The Nate Berkus Show (above).

Such beautiful and poignant words from that young man. Our hearts truly go out to both of them.

Keep speaking up, you guys! We know it's difficult, but your voices need to be heard!

Oprah's New Nate Berkus Show Floundering In The Ratings

Nate Berkus new show getting poor ratings

Opes! Make some time for Nate!

He needs you!

Though Nate Berkus' show had a strong start last month when it premiered, his ratings are fading fast and industry people are wondering if he can hold onto his show for much longer.

The promising interior designer, a discipline of Oprah Winfrey herself, finds himself dragging behind the likes of Nancy Grace, with a lackluster turn out of only 1.2 million viewers. One industry analysts reviewed:

"Berkus is likeable, but he pings from decorating to mommy bloggers to saving money to auction tips with the occasional celebrity appearance, making it difficult to discern the show's true identity."

We say, get Oprah on STAT!

A few appearances from the Big O and you'll be back on top in no time!

Nate Berkus Show In Trouble, Poor Ratings

Nate Berkus Starts Syndicated Season To A Solid But Not Strong Debut

Along with 20th Century Fox's How I met Your Mother, Sony's The Nate Berkus Show topped the charts for the opening day of the syndicated season.

Here are Nate Berkus' rating details, as listed on Broadcasting & Cable:

Nate Berkus, a spin-off of CBS Television Distribution's Oprah, opened at a 1.2 rating/4 share in the weighted metered markets, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was down 8% from its lead-in of 1.3/4, but up 20% from its September 2009 time period average (1.0/3).

Nice to see an Oprah spin-off succeeding, as her main show moves into its final season.

We hope it continues to do well!
