Well, that's the end of that!
The proposed NBC reboot of the '70s crime drama The Rockford Files has been suddenly shelved, and for everyone out there super disappointed, you have House to blame!
Why, you ask?
Writer David Shore had been set to develop the remake, but was called back to the Hugh Laurie medical drama - which he created - when a proposed storyline on the series, planned to take up a significant portion of the season, was scrapped in the advanced stages, and executive producers asked for his help to re-break a new arc!
He's since shelved Rockford, although there is still the option to try and get it off the ground again next year.
We've been hearing rumblings about this proposed remake for years, and things have never seemed to come to fruition, so maybe this is a sign to just leave the original series as is!
Not EVERYTHING needs to be re-made!
Besides, if the want mystery, we say reboot Murder, She Wrote! That shiz is where it's at!
Thoughts?? You disappointed to see The Rockford Files fall to the wayside??
