Above and beyond!

Earlier this month, fans of the band The Swell Season, as well as the band themselves, were witnesses to a terribly tragedy as a man killed himself during the band's concert.

The moment was truly horrific and quite possibly traumatizing, so the band has taken steps to ensure their fans are well taken care of. The Swell Season have announced that they will pay for grief counseling for anyone who was at the concert and wants to deal with what happened.

With hundreds upon hundreds of fans in the audience, it's really a very nice thing for them to do. It's a really sad situation, but maybe this offers just a bit of hope and relief.

The Swell Season Splits!

That's too bad.

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will no longer be making music together as The Swell Season. Glen plans to return to his band The Frames and Marketa will do a solo album.

The news comes after the horrible tragedy that occurred at their Saratoga, CA concert when a fan committed suicide onstage, but they say it has nothing to do with their decision to part ways.

Hansard explains:

"I'll go back to the Frames, and Mar will make her own record at some point. This band (Swell Season) will eventually naturally end. But right now, all of us are just so grateful. Getting together and making music with Mar was a side thing for me, but it felt absolutely right.

"I followed through on it even when it felt like I might've been abandoning my band a bit. But I had to follow through. I knew there was something in this that I had to follow through on."

Well they are both very talented so we're sure they will do well no matter what they decide.

Best of luck!
