It looks like the Johnny Depp vehicle The Thin Man might not be a good fit for Warner Bros right now.

The flawless actor has hired David Koepp to write the screenplay for The Thin Man.

David, who wrote Jurassic Park and Spider-Man, is sure to adapt this story into movie gold.

Director Rob Marshall has been brought on board as well.

As Johnny Depp will produce and star in the film, this project reunites the two who both worked on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Wanna know what the story's like?

Well, if you've read any of the classic books, you already know, but if not, it centers around a murder-mystery solving married couple — Nick and Nora Charles.

Johnny will of course play Nick, but nobody knows who Nora will be…

Hmmm, maybe Olivia Wilde? We could see that.

They've done such great work together on the Pirates movies, we're excited to hear they are collaborating again.

Warner Bros. confirmed this morning that they will be reuniting director Rob Marshall with his swashbuckling superstar, Johnny Depp, for a remake of the 1934 film, The Thin Man. In the flick, Depp will play lead Nick Charles, a private detective married to a wealthy socialite, Nora, who also works along side him solving cases.

A comedy-mystery, eh? That's sounds rather fun, actually! Johnny is a very funny guy and he really isn't given enough opportunities to show that!

Someone who is just as excited as us (perhaps more so) that the film is forging ahead is Rob himself. In a statement about the film, he explained:

“John [Deluca, producer] and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project. We are also thrilled to be partnering this time with such wonderful producers as Christi Dembroski and Kevin McCormick, and we are looking forward to working with Warner Bros. to create a reinvention of a beloved story.”

Sounds like it's going to be quite a project - but who will play Nora, we wonder???

She's got to be a beauty, for sure, but also someone with a lot of wit and charm.
