Things Aren't Looking Great For The Hoff's New Reality Show

Filed under: TV NewsAnglophiliaThe HoffReality TV

the hoffs new reality series debuts poorly

Don't worry, David. At least you've still got Britain's Got Talent on the horizon!

David Hasselhoff's new A&E reality show didn't do so hot, with only 718,000 viewers for the 10 p.m. debut, and then only 505,000 viewers for the 10:30 p.m. second episode.

Looks like reviews weren't so hot either. The Washington Post, for example, referred to the show as "dull and transparently desperate."

Sorry things didn't go as planned with the new show, David. Maybe you'll have better luck next week.

Keep your chin up, Hoff, and keep reminding yourself…Britain's Got Talent! Britain's Got Talent! Britain's Got Talent!

Did U watch the Hoff's new reality show? If so, what did U think of it?

So, We All Agree…

Chelsea Handler sucked wasn't great last night!

We had high hopes for the normally loose-lipped, laid-back comedian hosting the VMAs last night and yet, she really didn't pull it off, in our opinion. For the most part, we were bored and just hoping she would shut the hell up so we could hear more music.

We're apparently not alone in our assessment as several sources agreed that she was awful, even going as far as to label her the worst host in the show's history!

The New York Times, wasn't too harsh, labeling her "out-of-touch" and "undone by nerves." And The Washington Post wasn't much nicer, suggesting that "a string of flat punch lines felt a few degrees below crass."

The same sentiment was echoed by Entertainment Weekly, who noted that her grand entrance was pretty effing lame, considering that mocking our beloved wifey Lady GaGa was just too "easy."

Yep! We concur! Do U?

Condoleezza Rice Performs On Stage With Aretha Franklin!

wenn2941362jb.jpg

We give her a lot of credit for going up there and performing with such a legend! It must have been pretty bizarre - but awesome - to be there to see it!

Last night Aretha Franklin was joined on stage at Philadelphia's Mann Music Center by none other than Condoleezza Rice for a benefit concert for urban children!

The former Secretary of State performed on the piano while Franklin sang I Say A Little Prayer and My Country 'Tis of Thee, and although many critics considered Rice's performance a little "safe," The Washington Post asserts that the collaboration "had kind of a goofy brilliance."

Franklin said:

"All I had seen of Dr. Rice was in a political atmosphere. It just seemed foreign that she would be a classical pianist. She really does play. She's formidable. We decided to give it a try. So here we are, in the city of Brotherly – and Sisterly – Love."

So cool!

Maybe Condoleezza will forgo politics and become a musical superstar! LOLs!

Or not - but kudos, bb! We are sincerely impressed!

Thoughts??

Is Gabourey Sidibe A Bitch??

This is so, so disappointing.

The Washington Post's Jonthan Capehart is apparently no longer a fan of Gabourey Sidibe after he and a few friends had quite unpleasant encounters with the actress at the White House Correspondent's dinner!

He alleges:

I was thrilled to spot her at a table laughing uproariously with the man sitting to her right. "I know you're having a good time and I'm sorry to interrupt," I began. My next sentence didn't come out because Sidibe shouted over the din, "Yeah, come back in five minutes!" Thinking she was joking, I laughed and pretended to walk away. When I noticed that the look in her eyes meant she was serious, I walked back to her and said, "I just wanted to congratulate you on your nomination. I thought your performance was spectacular. I even wrote a column about it." After wishing her good luck, I rejoined my friends.

Back at the table, I sheepishly related the incident to my colleague Jo-Ann Armao. "Oh! She's horrible," Armao said in her wonderfully blunt way. She told me that she saw Sidibe at the pre-cocktails and told her that she'd seen "Precious" three times (an amazing emotional feat that only adds to my awe of Armao) and that she thought Sidibe's performance was "incandescent." What was Sidibe's response? "I guess I should say, 'Thank you.'"

At the MSNBC after party, the partner of a "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" producer said to me, "Look! There's Gabby Sidibe. I'm going to ask her to take a picture with me." I warned him, "She's mean." To which he said, "I don't care. I just want a picture." I didn't see what went down, but the dejected fan came back and said incredulously, "She said no."

We sincerely hope that you weren't feeling yourself that night, bb, because one successful movie isn't going excuse your being a ridiculous diva!

Get your act together, or you may not be in the public's good graces for much longer!!
