OoOoOo! We like it!
Former White Stripes, Raconteurs and Dead Weather frontman Jack White is finally on his own and is releasing his first solo album, Blunderbuss, on April 24.
That's still a few months off, but fortunately, he gave us a taste of what we can expect by releasing the record's first single today! It's called Love Interruption and we kinda love it and maybe you will too once you listen to it (below).

And you know what? We like it.
Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless are touring Europe with Evanescence and even though they won't have any new material for a new album until 2012, they're still breathing new life into their show by doing a cover of The White Stripes' Seven Nation Army.
Taylor's voice totally fits this type of song. It's actually pretty good. And we're also really happy she's wearing a shirt. Nice job.
We think Jack White would be proud!
Watch (above) and tell us what U think of their cover.

Her tactics may be unorthdox, but she certainly got our attention!
Check out the video (above) of Congresswoman Donna Edwards utilizing lyrics from the White Stripes' Effect and Cause in her message that goes out to "our young people and our seniors and our service members and federal workers who stand to be affected by a government shutdown."
In the video, she claims that her usage of the lyrics are meant to be a lesson for her republican colleagues.
Hmm…did you learn your lesson, republicans??? Ha!
Were U moved by Congresswoman Edwards' usage of the White Stripes?

And it was AWESOME!!!!
This afternoon, Jack White rolled up to SXSW in a yellow-and-black truck … aka the Third Man Records Rolling Record Store! The truck functions as part record store, part recording studio and is completely rad!
To get things rolling for his new label's first showing at SXSW, Jack pulled out his ax and performed right there in the parking lot! That's just how he do!
Check out the video (above) to hear Jack rock out to a Buddy Holly classic AND the White Stripes jam, "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground."

It's been four years since the duo have put out any new music, but still fans were hoping for the best. Unfortunately, we come bearing bad news.
As of this morning, according to the band's official website, The White Stripes have officially broken up. Meg and Jack White have decided to go their separate ways and continue to pursue other musical ventures without the other. On the site's main page they explain:
"The reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health. It’s for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way…Third Man Records will continue to put out unreleased live and studio recordings from the White Stripes in their Vault subscription record club, as well as through regular channels…The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. The beauty of art and music is that it can last forever if people want it to. Thank you for sharing this experience. Your involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.”
All good things must come to an end, we guess.
We wish them both luck that they find happiness in their new musical lives and hope that perhaps one day, their paths cross again.

Although they've been on hiatus since 2007, Meg and Jack White are returning to the studio to record another album.
"We thought we'd do a lot of things that we'd never done: a full tour of Canada, a documentary, coffee-table book, live album, a boxed set. It was one long project that took almost three years.
Now that we've gotten a lot of that out of our system, Meg and I can get back in the studio and start fresh."
OMG! Cannot wait!

You're a talented musician, but this is a little bit weird.
The White Stripes' Jack White is obsessed with taxidermy, and apparently he bring stuffed animals home after the majority of his tours.
Here's what White's wife, Karen Elson, had to say about it:
"He loves a good stuffed animal, my husband. [It's] to the point where [I say], 'Please don't come off tour with another creature.' I mean, some of the stuff is beautiful but… they're his, not mine."
Instead of focusing so much of your time on stuffed animals, why don't you focus your time on helping living animals, Jack?
Food for thought, bb!
