The Original Black Swan LOLs

They would have DEFINITELY won Best Picture if they had kept the original version of this film!

Check out the video (above) in which Darren Aronofsky and Todd Barry open up about Black Swan, and how it was initially going to be a film about the minor deli manager character from The Wrestler.

After seeing Todd Barry's performance in The Wrestler, as well as his minor-but-crucial performances in New York City Serenade and Pootie Tang, we can definitely say that he would have gotten Darren plenty of Oscars!

…What? You didn't see any of those movies? You think Black Swan was good with Natalie Portman and the whole "ballet plot?"

To each their own, we suppose! We want to see the full length version of The Deli Manager! Come on Darren! If you're not gonna do RoboCop or The Wolverine, you could AT LEAST do this!

Ha!

Would U watch The Deli Manager if it were a legit, full length film?

Black Swan's Darren Aronofsky Still Wants To Make Robocop Movie

darren aronofsky still wants to make a robocop movie

Now that Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan is in theaters, he'll be moving onto new projects, and one that he's interested in pursuing is the Robocop reboot, which was cancelled back in July due to MGM's financial troubles.

Here's what Darren had to say about the Robocop reboot:

“Well, ‘RoboCop’ may still happen one day, who knows? It’s MGM and hopefully they’ll clear their stuff up and I’m still interested. David Self wrote a great script, but the company went under so…”

Given the fact that the new Bond movie is currently in the process of rising from the ashes, we're thinking maybe we'll hear more Robocop news sooner than later…especially since Darren is still innerested in the project!

In the meanwhile, he's got a similar project in the works, called Machine Man, which is based on Australian writer Max Barry’s online serial and upcoming book about “a geek who equips himself with high-end parts."

Guess we'll see what happens with Darren and all of these machine-related projects in the works. Maybe he can do a Wrestler sequel, where Randy "The Ram" returns to the ring…to fight robots!

Thoughts???

Wolverine Sequel NOT A Sequel?

darren aronofsky says wolverine movie wont be a sequel

Anybody who's seen Requiem For A Dream, Pi, or The Fountain knows that Darren Aronofsky is ANYTHING but a conventional director.

The Black Swan director is going to continue his unconventional trend with his Wolverine film, which will be titled The Final Destination The Wolverine.

Aronofsky has stated that the film, which will once again star Hugh Jackman, will be a "one off," and not a "sequel in the conventional sense."

We're not 100% sure how this film isn't a sequel. Is it going to completely negate all the events that took place in X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Is it simply an ego thing? Are you uncomfortable having your name associated with a sequel, Darren?

If the problem here is that you're just anti-sequel, you should get over it, Darren! You KNOW you want to tell us the continuing story of The Wrestler's Randy "The Ram" Robinson depending on how you interpreted the end of that movie.

Do U think the new Wolverine movie REALLY won't be a sequel?

Sofia Coppola Wins Top Prize At Venice!

sofiacoppolae.jpg

Recently, we were congratulating Sofia Coppola for having her second baby, Cosima, and now it looks like we've got even more to congratulate her on!

Sofia Coppola was awarded the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday for her film Somewhere.

The film is about a Hollywood actor, Johnny Marco, whose life gets consumed with alcohol, drugs, and sex. When Marco’s 11-year-old daughter comes to stay with him, he must reassess his wild lifestyle.

Actors Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning star as Marco and his daughter. Should be inneresting to see if this film could be Dorff’s The Wrestler.

Depending how it goes, maybe we’ll take this as an opportunity to finally forgive Dorff for feardotcom. Yuck!

Are U excited to see Sofia Coppola’s new film?

Lots More Expendables On The Way!

expendablese.jpg

Why do we feel like we’re still going to be writing about The Expendables five years from now?

We probably feel that way because it’s clear that Sylvester Stallone is going to get every ounce of mileage out of this project as possible. Now that it is officially evolving from a movie to a franchise, he’s got all types of plans.

First on the schedule is a director’s cut of Expendables, which will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in about six months. Along with the director’s cut, Stallone has reported that he’s recently finished an audio commentary, as well as a documentary companion piece entitled Inferno: The Making of The Expendables.

He’s teased us about the documentary by referencing a story about a stunt gone awry, where Sly was brought to a hospital in Brazil, where they told him surgery would be required for a spinal cord injury to his neck. Damn, Sly…why do we suddenly see flashes of Mickey Rourke’s character in The Wrestler?

Stallone is also pumped to get going on The Expendables II. Here’s what he’s saying about the project:

"I am thinking what would be the most dangerous places in the world to set the sequel?… Had dinner with Bruce Willis… I want him in Expendables II as a super villain. What do you think?"

We’ll give it some thought, and get back to you, Sly. In the meanwhile, maybe you should also start brainstorming about The Expendables III. Instead of the most dangerous place on Earth, maybe in the threequel you can set it in the most dangerous place…in OUTER SPACE!

Are U excited for more Expendables?

Mickey Rourke Doesn't Respect Most Actors

Filed under: Z ListGwyneth PaltrowMickey Rourke

Now that Mickey Rourke has resurrected his career, he's letting people know how he really feels.

After going from the low budget indie The Wrestler where he "didn't even have a chair to sit in," to this summer's big blockbuster Iron Man 2, he's revealed that he's not too happy with most of today's young actors and actresses.

The outspoken star actor says:

"You can be less than mediocre and be a f*****g movie star. I have respect for very few actors and actresses. Some of them get a lot of acclaim but just because their movie made $200 million at the box office, they still suck. I got no respect for them and I used to let them know it. It was important for me to put that aside and go, 'You know what? This is a business. If you kiss the right a*s and you get lucky on a movie or two, you could last 10 years.' So, now, I just keep my mouth shut and pet my chihuahuas."

He even goes on to talk about an unnamed actress in particular, adding:

"If they know their work, fine, if they're don't, f**k 'em. I worked with an actress recently who, despite having a reputation as a 'good actress', s**ts herself when that little red light comes on. She's fooled everyone into thinking she's a lot better than she is."

LOL! We wonder who he's talking about??

Maybe his Iron Man 2 co-star, Gwyneth??

Hmm, we're just sayin'!
