Texas Girl Scouts Get Robbed…And They Fight Back!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooSad SadPerezTV

Good for them! They had to sell LOTS of Thin Mints and Do-si-dos to earn all that money!!!

Check out the news report (above) about Texas Girl Scouts who were robbed while selling cookies in front of Wal Mart!

The girls tried to stop the thieves, but unfortunately they got away with $200 in cookie money.

Let's hope they're able to identify these criminals through store security footage! Justice must be served!!!!

P.S. We could SO go for some Tagalongs right now! Yum!

Dognapping Is A Problem in Vietnam

Doggy Dog

In Vietnam, a dog can sell for $50-100; the equivalent of the average Vietnamese man's month salary.

The dogs are sold to restaurants where they are killed, skinned and then eaten.

Disgusting.

Thieves on motorbikes ride through towns, snatching up dogs.

Most townspeople don't even call the police because there are no real penalties for dog thievery. They instead turn to vigilante justice.

Some mobs have chased down the thieves and literally clubbed them to death then lit them on fire. The thieves have also been fighting back, shooting arrows and hurling bricks at their pursuers.

A bystander was even killed after being hit in the head with a thrown brick.

The stolen dogs are rarely recovered.

The violence is coming mainly from a clash between an old and new way of thinking.

Many in Vietnam are adopting a more Western style of human-animal companionship.

A founder of animal group to raise awareness of this cruelty going on in Vietnam said:

"You are really witnessing the convergence of two trends. The old way of the dog meat trade, where animals didn't count for much, is coming up against the new trend of keeping true companion animals that are loved, nurtured and valued for their own sake."

Normally we'd say something about how they should adopt rescue dogs but we won't allow that until they stop eating them first.

Animal rights!

Thieves Assembling For 'Flashrobs' On Facebook!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TruePerezTVFacebook

We've heard of people inviting each other out to parties or maybe dinners on Facebook…but to a robbery???

Check out the news report (above) about the new trend of "flashrobs," which are basically flashmobs that work together to rob a store in a matter of seconds.

Pret-ty crazy stuff, but then again we've definitely seen people do worse things on Facebook.

What do U think about this new trend of flashrobs? Have U ever witnessed (or been part) of one???

Watch Out, Laptop Thieves! You're Being Watched!

hidden service can track down stolen laptops

Macbook and iMac owners, breathe easy! If your computer gets stolen, you can get it back!

There's a new Mac app called Hidden, which provides the following service, as described on its website:

"If your computer is stolen, Hidden will show you where it is and who has it."

And here's a testimonial about the service from Brad Reisner at Charitybuzz:

"We had a Mac ‘misplaced’ at a charity event so we logged into hiddenapp.com, marked the laptop stolen and followed the Google Maps dots. When we went to retrieve it the person who ‘found’ it had ripped all the company stickers off. Best $20 I've ever spent."

So cool! And given the fact that it only costs $15/year, we'd say this is def worth the peace of mind!

What do U think? Would U sign up for this service?

Pete Samprass Has Stolen Trophies Anonymously Returned

Pete Samprass

Retired tennis star Pete Samprass feels like a winner all over again after his trophies, stolen from a warehouse in El Lay last December, were anonymously returned to a hospital in the city.

Pete had stored the trophies in the warehouse while his house was being renovated, but unfortunately thieves were able to break in and steal dozens of them, including those from his Wimbledon victories.

What a bummer!

The thieves must have grown a heart in the last three months because an unspecified number of the stolen trophies have recently been returned.

Some is better than none, but it's a shame that someone would rob a man of his accomplishments like that.

We hope the rest are returned soon and they catch the people responsible!

Elle Trades Bedbugs For Thieves!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooSpread 'Em

elle-magazines-time-life-building-offices-warn-of-thieves.jpg

The just can't catch a break.

After relocating from their bedbug infested offices at Broadway and 50th to the Time-Life building, Elle still has pests only these are much bigger.

An email was sent out to the staff warning them to be extra cautious with their belongings because they could get stolen.

The email read:

"We're sorry to report that we have experienced several incidences of theft over the last few days. We are making sure we have locks available tomorrow . . . In the meantime, we urge you all to lock up your laptops or take them home with you until we have a way to secure them."

Shady.

You'd think a building like Time-Life would have better security than that.
