We're still bummed that Kenneth Branagh won't be directing the sequel, but it looks like they may have found a worthy replacement!

Last month, we heard that Disney and Marvel Studios were moving forward with Thor 2, which is already scheduled for release on July 26, 2013.

In the meanwhile, we're thinking Chris Hemsworth's abs should look pret-ty nice on Blu-ray. LOLz.

Back in May, we were impressed with Thor's $66 million opening weekend, and we thought we smelled a sequel at the time.

It would appear that our sense of smell was working correctly, because Disney and Marvel Studios are moving forward with Thor 2, and they've given it a release date of July 26, 2013.

Unfortunately Kenneth Branagh won't be directing the sequel, but he'll still act as a producer, so at least he can provide input and make sure that part two lives up to the original.
