Devastating news has emerged concerning Jacintha Saldanha — the nurse who transferred the now infamous prank call to Kate Middleton's private carer — and the circumstances surrounding her death.

We previously heard that Jacintha had died of apparent suicide and that a suicide note had indeed been found, but now Coroner's officer Lynda Martindill has revealed that Nurse Saldanha hung herself with a scarf in her home near King Edward VII Hospital.

Jacintha's body was discovered by a hospital employee and a security guard, and physical damage was found on both of her wrists.

Three suicide notes were recovered from various places around the room.

Jacintha — a 46-year-old married mother of two — is survived by Ben Barboza, and their two children Junal (17) and Lisha (14).
