There could soon be a major media shakeup in the world of cable news!

Billionaire Rupert Murdoch is hoping to add Time Warner to his already massive media empire. The 83-year-old Australian tycoon made a bid to buy the company this week but if the deal does go through, CNN will have to find a new parent company!

Why?

Because Murdoch also own News Corp, which is the company that runs CNN’s rival FOX News!

With CNN soon to be up for sale, there’s already a very interested buyer. And his name is Jon Stewart!

On last night’s Daily Show, Jon informed his audience about the potential sale and asked for their help!

He wants YOU to donate to the ‘Let’s Buy CNN’ Kickstarter campaign, aiming to raise $10 billion!

That’s how much analysts expect the cable news channel to go for and Jon wants to make sure he can afford to buy the ever-failing network that is so often panned on his show!

Okay well, no, he doesn’t ACTUALLY want to buy it. But if this Kickstarter was real, here are some of the prizes potential donors would get!

woman sues producers after forced sex scene bleeding incident

Ugh! We can’t even imagine having to go through this.

Actress Anne Green sued Time Warner, HBO, Cinemax, and producers True Crime two years ago because she says she was basically forced to strip down and simulate set for Femme Fatales.

It’s a confusing situation, but Miz Greene says that she was “blind-sided with multiple script rewrites” and told she’d have to pay over $100,000 for breaching her contract if she didn’t perform the simulated sex scene.

Here’s where things get gross.

Wowza! Who knew that those Upper East-siders had it in them?!

Time Warner will be making some serious dollah dollah bills off of the CW's Gossip Girl, after signing two deals with Netflix and Hulu to license the series' reruns via the net that will generate $100 million in revenue this quarter, half of which will be booked as an operating profit!

At least, that's according to their chief financial officer, Josh Martin, who reported such to analysts on the company's earnings call today!

Smart move, putting it up on the net!

We imagine with numbers like that, many shows will be following suit!

This is where the next generation of TV is going, folks!
