Spielberg Talks Lincoln, Robopocalypse, Tintin Sequels, And Jurassic Park 4!

steven spielberg talks new projects

Steven is keeping buuuuuuuuuusy!

During a recent interview, Steven Spielberg opened up about a bunch of his upcoming projects, and it sounds like he's got some fantastic stuff in the works!

Here's Steven on Lincoln and Robopocalypse (of course!):

"I just finished shooting a movie about Abraham Lincoln staring Daniel Day-Lewis which I am so deeply proud of. But because I am right in the middle of the editing of Lincoln, I’m not really going to speak and talk very much about that until the time is right to talk about it."

"And I’m making a science fiction movie probably in September called Robopocalypse based on Daniel Wilson’s book. It’s a cautionary tale about war between human beings and robots. It’s a big crowd pleaser, I think, a big action popcorn movie with a message. The message is actually in the popcorn! You have to get the popcorn, dig down deep in the bottom and there’ll be a message about what Robopocalypse is really about! And I have a couple of other plans which I don’t want to go into because they’re too far out of the horizon. But there’s a lot of work ahead, a lot of television my company is producing for some of the networks and some of the cable outlets. So I’m busy!"

More from Steven on Tintin sequels, the first of which is being directed by Peter Jackson:

Tintin is Smashing Records…in India!

tintin-breaks-animation-record-in-india-web.jpg

Why can't Tintin be released here yet?!

The Steven Spielberg-Peter Jackson film, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, had the highest grossing opening for an animated film in the history of India.

The film raked in 73.5 million rupees (about 1.46 million in U.S. dollars) this past weekend, beating Kung Fu Panda 2 by 20 million rupees.

The numbers are even more staggering as Tintin had to compete against the Indian film, Rockstar, which grossed 640 million rupees (12.7 million) and the animation genre is still growing in India.

The film was released in Hindi and English with over 350 prints ordered throughout the country, breaking another record.

This performance is also the highest grossing of ANY of Spielberg's films in India.

Unfortunately, the Americans have to wait until December 21, 2011 before the film is screened in the States

Jamie Bell And A Cute Dog At Tintin Premiere In Rome

Jamie Bell and a dog

Jamie Bell was hanging out with some of the characters from The Adventures Of Tintin at its premiere in Rome.

One of the best characters (in our opinion) was the cute little white dog who looked so happy to be hanging out on the red carpet.

Check out some more pics from the event below.
