What a mystery!
Entertainment Tonight interviewed Gary Coleman's Diff'rent Strokes co-star Todd Bridges and he revealed that Gary not only recently had open-heart surgery, but he also had a some secret last wishes!
Here are some HIGHlights from Todd's interview, airing tonight!
On the good times they had together:
"We had an exceptional time as kids. We always had fun in our dressing rooms, we'd always roller skate together around [the studio lot], we always hung out… we went to school together. He was a precocious, fun little kid that was very bright for his age."
On Gary's behavior as an adult:
"Imagine having major health problems. Imagine getting ripped off of all your money. Imagine being raised in a household where he wasn't taught how to love himself or to love others around him. So when he hit the world at an adult age, he wasn't prepared."
On Gary's open-heart surgery:
"Physically, he wasn't in great shape. He had a valve replaced, and people didn't know that."
On Gary's last wishes:
"[A friend of mine and I] have paperwork, and we'll bring it out soon, that will show what his wishes were and what he wanted. There's a big fight going on with his parents and some other people involved, and after we bring this paperwork out, everybody's going to shut up.
"Gary had certain wishes [excluding his parents]. I'm not going to go against a dying man's wishes. … There's a reason why he didn't speak to them for 23 years."
We wonder what the big news is!

Diff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges has opened up about his past as a victim of sexual abuse and drug addiction in his new book, Killing Willis, and now has revealed he became a drug dealer at 22 to work off his $30,000 debt!
However, he couldn't stop doing the drugs he was selling!
"I worked four different hotels and I had five girls that worked on the streets. I hated myself. I hated the way I looked in the mirror. I believed everything people said about me."
We're so glad he was able to clean up his act and get his life together! That's a lot better than most in his position seem to do.

Sometimes we really feel bad for these former child stars.
Todd Bridges of Diff'rent Strokes fame opens up about being sexually abused as a 12-year-old by his publicist in his memoir Killing Willis: From Diff'rent Strokes to the Mean Streets to the Life I Always Wanted.
Bridges told his father that his publicist performed oral sex on him and his father, who physically abused him, didn't believe it! Bridges writes:
"Bringing all that up was tough in a way, but I resolved the issues. It's kind of sad to know that a grown man would take advantage of a child. But what made it more tough was that your father took the guy's side. That kind of broke me at 12 years old. I was really lost after that."
How awful! Bridges also writes about co-star Dana Plato, who died in 1999 after a prescription drug overdose, introducing him to drugs and leading him to addiction including cocaine and crystal meth.
But Todd's been sober for 17 years and says of writing the book:
"I really wanted to tell what really happened… They always want to make me blame Hollywood. That's just not the truth. You know how they say Hollywood throws childhood stars away? That wasn't true in my case."
Sad, but we're glad he was able to get his life together! That isn't always the case for some.
